after a long hiatus from drawing of any sort, i've started work on a comicbook concept. this is a preliminary design for the heroin. c&c welcome as always.

Not a whole lot of detail in there, but that's a damn fine drawring.
Beautiful strokes. |

I agree with elam. More details would bring more character. Very nice sketch. |

Maybe add a backpack or some some pockets at waist? She would need some place for more ammo and makeup etc Also how does the hair end? It would be nice if that was shown too, now you cant really tell what haircut she has. Anyways, the sketch looks really good, so its hard to come up with critique. |

point noted. yeah i tend to be satisfied with less than adequate detail sometimes, too absorbed with overall structure. thanks for your comments and encouragement. i will post a finished (more detailed) version very soon.

Wow, I think that's quite amazing! I swear I've seen this style somewhere before, maybe some starwars game, but it also has anime like qualities, which is quite good I like the green lightning it gives so much more to the overall character attitude at least how i see it, I wish to see the background more complete though, her left foot seems a bit bigger then the right foot which is kinda outta place to me, or as if she's wearing heels on her right and running shoes or something on her left, the post-apocalypse/sci-fi feel is awesome. The gun looks strange and unique which is good, definetley have the background like a space junk yard or something, just a thought. I like the painting. The original sketch is lose and quick, and does the job right, the sketch on its own reminds me of boba fett. _________________ Open your eyes... and see the world as it really is... |

I love your line drawings. Really. I never get tired of seeing really solid expressiveness like this.
On the other hand, the color versions seem a tad on the muddy side to me. I like the second color version of the girl where you don't cover up the line work, though I don't know if I feel quite as good about the airbrushed-ness in there -- its up to you, I guess. I'd say keep going in that direction and find a way to avoid the muddiness, and you're really cooking. |

hey Zarathustra. cool name . thanks for your compliments on my line drawings! the colour ones were NOT done by me. they were done by the people who posted replies to my topic (polarFONTey, and NeFF). we have distinctly different styles. if i ever did colour them, i can guarantee you they would look different. not better necessarily, but different. thanks to polarFONTey and NeFF for their colouring attempts! |

I'm sorry, I missed that about the color drawings being by other posters. I guess that was the point of the thread. In my haste to say how much I liked the drawings I guess I overlooked that.
Anyway, carry on! |
