I was wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of ant-aliasing in photoshop 7? If I make a square and rotate it 45% the edges are automatically anti-aliased. anyone know how to turn this off? |

I dont know about PS7 but in PS6, it is an option somewhere in the Preferences where you can choose bicubic, linear or no interpolation .. _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.

thats for Image size fab.. when u shrink or enlarge an image..
by its nature PS will give you ant-aliased lines if they're @ an angle, unless your working in bitmap mode..
if your talking about feather on the otherhand u can turn it off in the marquee tool here
the alternative way of getting crisp images is to draw ur box in a drawing package such as Freehand or Illustrator and save as eps, and open in Photoshop, unchecking the 'anti-alias' button when choosing ur size |

Brushes have soft edges by default. I don't know if Photoshop supports painting in that way. If palettized color precision isn't an issue for you, you may want to try painting in palettized which will not perform any AA (but you'll be stuck with using only the colors available in the palette). Either that or use the Pencil tool as Bang said. |

Press Ctrl "K" to bring up the preferences dialog. The first dialog screen should be the General Preference screen. Change the Interpolation from BICUBIC to NEAREST NEIGHBOR.
It's not pretty, but it removes anti-aliasing when you resize or make changes to an image. _________________ HonePie.com

What Frost said, sort of.
Open two canvasses, one in regular ol' RGB, and another in Indexed color. Draw all of your raggedy squares in the indexed color canvas, and copy/paste them into your RGB picture.
Unless you're just doing line art, in which case, just skip the canvas with the RGB. _________________ QED, sort of. |
