Yep, that's right. We've done film, so now it's games.
Mine:
Half-Life: When you take the elevator all the way up to ground level, and the music starts PUMPING. As the door slides open, you see a squad of marine aiming at you!
The Longest Journey: When April's annoying neighbor starts shooting four-letter words out of his mouth after she pissed him off the night before. That's when you realized, "This aint no PG-13 game!"
System Shock 2: When you find the recordings left by the 2 love birds. Awww.... Made me wish they had survived somehow together.
Unreal Tournament(I know it's not a story driven game, but hey, there are moments): Whenever I hear, "ULTRA KILL!" or telefrag someone.
Counter-Strike: Whenever I tangle with someone REALLY hard to kill, and empty a full clip on him, then whip out my pistol and empty that, then finally finish him off with my combat knife. *whew*
They Hunger: When you come up from swimming in the stream, and you see the helicopter, then the zombie cop operating the machinegun....
As you kids can tell, I've watched way more movies than played games. I suck. |

At the end of Dune I (which is loosely based on the movie version), every one of your Fremen chief stood together in the Harkonon palace after their defeat. I can never get tired of that scene. But of course, I'll have to play the game from the beginning again to get the same thrill. |

Street Fighter 2: the intro sequence and music
Mortal Kombat: knocking someone into the pit for the first time
Silpheed: seeing the first of the big cruisers get shattered by a giant laser beam on level 1
Doom: getting the chainsaw |

Games...now we're talkin'
--
Final Fantasy 7: Aeris's Death Scene.
By far the most emotional sequence in a game that I've ever played. I've known no other part of a game to choke up as many people as this did.
Quake1: When I did a rocket jump and splattered the guy near me, then in mid air hit another guy trying to do a rocket jump, and while falling nailed another guy on my way down. Truly magnificent (no luck involved of course)
Doom2: Can't really say moment, but memories. Just allnighters being put into this game with me and a friend, local dialup. Level after level, wad after wad, we'd battle it out. Our skill was so equal it's not even funny, and the fastpaced action in this game just made it constant frag-action.
Metal Gear Solid: The opening to the game. Nothing Super special, it was simply the feeling I got when i finally ripped open the package, and started to play. The music, the graphics, everything just took my breath away after anticipating a sequal to such a badass series for years.
Zelda Ocarina of Time: Going for 4 days without sleep to beat this game before most of my friends even knew it was out yet
Max Payne: When I first saw the bullet-time. me and my friend just turned and looked at each other, both of our jaws completely dropped....
Thief1: When I first started sneaking around levels and realized that they had guards talking to each other, and then ran across a drunken guard that was just swinging his sword around mumbling words, with a few bottles of ale next to him.
Super Smash Bros: When I finally beat that mother fucking hand with all the characters, THINKING i had to do it without using a continue to get the secret level, THEN finding out that I didn't have to go through those 3 controllers, and my screaming fits to get the secret level......then it turns out the secret level was nothing great, and I punched the nearest person.
007 Goldeneye: Finally beating the Aztec level on 007 mode, after months of putting down the game and trying again. I beat this game with not too much difficulty on 007 mode, until this gay ass level showed up.
FF9: Seeing the Kuja-Trance scene on Disc 4 on Terra. If any of you learn to do 3d animation that well? Then I will bow before you.
Starcraft: "My life for Ayre"
Warcraft: "Of course, mastaaaaH"
Mario64: This was before the system was available for purchase, and we were able to rent it from Blockbuster for a preview or somethin'. Basicly, once the Mario face popped up and we could play with his nose, first time seeing such badass gfx on a system....and running across the field to Peach's Castle? Adrenaline baby...
Super Mario Kart: Kicking anyone's ass who dared to challenge me in Battle Mode (and finally losing to my roommate finding out he was an oldschool Mario Kart player.....)
Unreal: When you walked down that hall in the first level, and the lights went off...and then you heard a deep growl come from behind you....badass.
Wizards & Warriors: The first game I ever beat for NES back when I was like 8 yrs old or somethin', no cheats...nothin' but skeeel.
Conker's Bad Fur Day: Every moment in that game made me laugh my ass off, and I'd say the entire game is a "favorite moment" Especially the Tediz multiplayer....
bwahah!
Duke3d: "Shake it, baby"
Rogue Spear: Playing a 5v5 clan match, and my stupid clanmates rushed and got killed, then I was stealthy enough to kill the entire other team on my own....knowing that my clanmates were observing me in this moment of hardcore-playing.
Online Doom2(Zdoom): The first time I was able to play someone over the net in one of my favorite games of all time.
GTA3: This was only a few days ago too, but all I can say is the fact that you can punch some old women walking down the street, and then kick her until she is dead and bleeding on the sidewalk? Hilarious >
Getting my PS2 was a huge moment too, because I never expected it for christmas since it was the year it came out.
There are too many others, but I was supposed to leave work 30 mins ago, so I'll probably be back tomorrow to add some more |

Already mentioned Metal Gear Solid in the other thread...
StarCraft - BroodWar: The intro sequence that reminded me of Aliens. In fact, all the cutscenes were amazing.
Maniac Mansion: The multiple endings. Also, being able to put the hamster in the microwave. "Would you like white or dark meat?" haha
Day of the Tentacle: Hands down one of the best games ever.
Bruce Lee for Commodore 64: One of my fave old school games.
Tron Deadly Discs for Intellivision: One of my favorite games as a child. I would play that game for hours and hours.
Resident Evil 2: All of the sequences where they scare you even though you knew it was coming.
Black and White: Not the greatest game, but where else can you pick up a villager and toss him into the sea?
Everquest: First time I ever actually fought a dragon. What a rush that was.
Out of This World/Flashback/ICO: Best puzzle games ever.
Impossible Mission for C64: "Another visitor. Stay a while... Stay FOREVER!"
Dragon's Lair: I remember drooling over this game in the arcade when i first saw it. I'll never get over the fact that I didn't beat it. If I see it again in an arcade I will spend whatever it takes to finish it.
Final Fantasy Tactics: Everything about this game was brilliance.
Final Fantasy II SNES: Best FF game EVER!
Planescape - Torment: One of the better PC RPGs I've ever played. I guess I'm a bit biased because I worked on it though.
Freespace 2: One of the best space sims ever.
The Lost Vikings: Friend and I stayed up for 3 days straight so we could beat it before we had to return it to Blockbuster. Damn that was a long time ago. Great game.
The Legend of Zelda - NES: 2nd quest baby! Games just don't do that anymore.
I've got more. I'll add them later. |

Shadow-X- : I've played that game before, it's called Out of this World. Friggin hard too 0_o
now lets see
FF7: Aerith's death scene of course.
FF8: The Ragnarok attacking lunatic pandora
Xenogears: I though the whole game was great. It had more than one good moment, though I can't remember the details.
Super Metroid: A lot of the game was just cool for it's time. I liked the part where you have to escape after you kill the mother brain. me~mor~ies......
Secret of Mana: I remember spending a lot of time in the hidden forest (where the mana tree was hidding). It was a fun game, especially playing it with my best friend.
Dead or Alive 2[:Hardcore]: Whenever I can get more than 15 wins in survival with Kasumi or Ayane
only happened once
Actraiser: first level of the game, it was one of the first games on the SNES for me.
Super Mario Kart: who wants to be my bitch
Lagoon: second half of the game was fun It was also cool how you changed the look when you found better armor/weapons/shields.
that's all I can think of for now. maybe I'll add to it later |

ff7: any time sephiroth walks in and that badass music plays
pretty much anytime the characters talk in my friends game where he named all the characters sephiroth
when aeris died. i hated that bitch. i dont know why everyone liked her, but the only thing that scene needed was more blood.
i cant remember any other ones right now. |

Vesuvius- Grrr...you're right. My brain's fried. Need more oxygen.
Here's another:
Conker's Bad Fur Day: When you are first shown how to use "context sensitive" function. Brillaint. I kept smacking that tree with the frying pan because I liked the way he cussed.
The idle animations were great too. When Conker whipped out the yo-yo and walked the dog, I nearly laughed to death.

Max Payne - WHen Max is shot up with Valkyrie (sp?), and he goes through a Deja-vu stage where he thinks he is a character in a story, and then the same scene repeats but this time, he thinks he is a computer game character, with the HUD and all, i thought that was funny.
Ice Hockey (Nintendo) - This game was amazing. Fat, medium and skinny hockey players with different stats. What more can you ask for?
Wolf 3D : WHen I finally beat the last boss (hitler like) guy, after playing hours on end on my old 386DX w/ 4 megs of ram, Adlib Soundcard, playing at the smallest screen size! Ahh the memories.

I know we're supposed to say what moments... but for me pretty much EVERY moments of the lucas arts adventure games (day of the tentacle, full throttle, sam n max, and of course monkey island) are fond memories...
I mean, has there ever been a better game character then Guybrush Threepwood?
One that sticks out is in Grim Fandango where you're driving around in the car with the big orange guy... and he's sitting there going VROOM VROOM! HONK! Uh, Uh.. VROOM!!
I used to sit and watch that for hours laughing my ass off...
ah the memories... |

Well, hm....
The opera scene in Final Fantasy 6...that was great.
The scene in Silent Hill where Lisa suddenly realizes she's dead, and the blood comes pouring out of her eyes. Hell, yeah!
The rat in King's Quest I. Love that rat.
That amazing feeling of accomplishment you get when you actually manage to save the Cute Dog in ADOM.
The scene in Legend of Dragoon where the ghost ship appears. The ship was really well done...and scary.
Melissa's metamorphoses in Parasite Eve...I loved that whole game, in fact. |

MOOOORREE GAMES!
--
Zelda 1: First time beating gannon. I don't remember what I felt really, I just remember it being cool. hehheh
Quake1 TF: When me and my friend entered a server where "teamkill" was on. So we named ourselves "Tons O GunFun" and "GunFunintheSun" and were on opposite teams, setting DetPaks inside our base area.
We killed so many of our own teammates, the people in the server finally just gave up, and turned the game into a ffa deathmatch.
bwahah!
Tribes2: When I was in a combat server where you could cloak infinitely. I just stood behind the enemy base, shocklancing the people. - Also, the first time I was in a transport and shocklanced my own team's vehicle. Completely flipping the vehicle, blowing up, and killing the majority of my teammates inside. Hilarious.
Quake2: A mid-air 56k railshot...all skill
BlasterMaster NES: I just enjoyed the fact that you were in some badass tank vehicle, and could get out and be some big-headed little geek and fire a pea-shooter at people.
First LAN Party: 5 days without sleep, the ceiling seemed very low and it was like being in a funhouse at a circus.....hardcore. Ramen Noodles, baby.
Blades of Steel: Not a big sports game fan, but hey...this game was cool. Oldschool.
FF2: WTF is up with Kain? Can't he makeup his goddamn mind....STAY WITH ONE SIDE! (..good game...)
FF6: First time through - Beating the statues...getting to Kefka, hearing the music....pumped up, excited, my guys are badass....I think I'm doin' awesome.....
Then - "Fallen One".
I really wish I had a megalixer...
Chronotrigger: Newgame +, beating Lavos with just Chrono and seeing the "super secret" ending. That was difficult, but fun.
FFtactics: All I can say is, Orlandu made that game too easy towards the end. (Despite that, its one of my favorite games of all time)
Seaman: Not many people played this game, for DC..but it came with a Microphone. You were supposed to play it for about 15-30mins a day for about a month or something, taking care of a virtual lifeform. But, I cheated and edited the system date on the DC after I played it every 25 mins, and just beat it within the first few days. The best part was in the ending when the lifeform, after asking u all these questions the whole time through the game, gives a synopsis of what it thinks about you and your life. It was actually really cool.
"BattleTech" at Dave&Busters: Went there with about 8 of my friends for a party, and we all got inside those Mech-arcade things, that had a door and everything...lights inside, screen in front, two handle/steering wheel things...you really thought you were inside a mech. That entire game was awesome. The fact that we were all playing against each other on some virtual terrain, inside our own little pods, and fighting against other strangers....then watching the replay of it outside on a tv, and having a printed log of our battle? Amazing.
(more to come, didn't mean to post this yet, but I was working on another reply and by accident used this one)

* Defender for the Atari 2600! I remember I was very young I beat that game 2 times in a row and played till I burned out my AC adapter!
* Shadowman for Dreamcast. I love the whole game but my favorite moment is probably when I got the ability to walk on lava. There was a pretty cool CGI sequence and it was realy coll to walk on lava!
* The intro for Soul Reaver on Dreamcast is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen in 3D. Beeting Kain and getting the Soul Reaver was definitly a triumphant moment! |

I love those games. It's a pitty they aren't doing anyone more in that style... |

Beating FF7 was awesome, so was getting Omni Slash.

Shining Force 2: fft in 2d heh it was great too SLADE FOREVER.
Phantasy Star 2, beating it. That was a really hard game.
Starcraft was a great game in general. I loved the cut scenes heh.
Diablo 2, beating diablo. worst, getting to hell level, and not being able to beat Duriel because you didnt have enough ram not to die in 4 seconds while you are lagging.
Diablo 1, beating hell stuff. that shizz is hard heh. also worst moments are losing all your stuff to a room full of 14 deathknights heh.
thats all i can remember, except for beating Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and some more obscure games. OH yeah warcraft2 ending! |

Oh man, there are just sooooo many great moments...
FF6: The part where Celes commits suicide, or so she thought, after the world breaks...choked me up a tad the first time through. Ahh yes, when Locke brought the Phoenix back to Rachel...that music was great.
Everquest: just too many moments to list, but here's one. I climbed a tree looking into a small castle full of orcs with my friend scrambling up after me. Just as I was wondering, "can they see me?" I hear one of them grunt and the whole room cleared out the front door...no doubt coming after me. I ran down the tree, only taking the time to shout, "RUN!" as my friend finished climbing to see nothing but an empty room. Our subsequent attempt at the flight from death was hilarious involving lots of swimming, scrambles up ladders, and futile attempts at shaking those orcs.
Halflife: Seeing daylight for the first time. Also, the second time you meet that big monster fish made me jump out of the seat...I simply dropped into the water where I was greeted immediately by a mouth full of teeth...worse than those head crabs I tell ya. Oh yeah, multiplayer is priceless...like one sniper battle my roommate and I got into...between a volley I quickly moved from the top of the tower I was on to a position right in front of my friend...he peeked around the corner with his crossbow aimed up and then it slowly lowered to face me just before I put a bullet through his scope.
Rune: Watching one of the designers at work play the demo, he proceeded to walk around the room smashing any objects that would break. He came to a pillar that was leaning over slightly with two wooden planks leaned against it. He smashed one, then took a step forward to smash the other one...CRASH...the pillar fell over on him and I died laughing.
Black and White: I was watching a friend play for the first time on the day it was released. He had just gotten his pet and was learning how to pet it. He started rubbing its stomach, making cutesy little googly baby talk to his little monkey pet... but got a little carried away which made his hand go from playful petting to backhanding it across its face twice...the dejected and surprised look on that creatures face was enough to make us laugh to the point of tears.
Metal Gear Solid: the whole first game was great. The second one isn't even out but the trailers are just incredibly well done. I particularly like the scene where Snake jumps off the ship after Metal Gear Ray (the Japanese version has a better yell for that part).
Samurai Showdown 2: I beat every one of 17 people that came up to challenge me at the arcade (some more than once) and proceeded to beat the game after they'd given up...all on the same quarter.
Devil May Cry: Just seeing that game in action makes me cry, the game's got such great style. The first time I uppercut a foe into the air and blasted him while floating right there with just gave me such a great feeling. The Phantom monster chasing you down the hallway near the beginning was incredible.
Soul Calibur: Pretty much anytime I pick up that game...so many great comebacks with no health, so many funny moments like when you see someone cancel out of Kilik's Rising Phoenix (he does a hand stand on his bo staff before coming straight down with it on the other person)...canceling makes him simply use the bo to push himself backwards, in this case, right out of the ring, haha.
Conker's Bad Fur Day: too many to list
Crono Trigger: the battle against Magus. That music was awesome.
Double Dragon 2: that black and white, slow motion sequence as you land the final blow on the last boss...nice touch.
Resident Evil: While watching my brother play it for the first time, I jumped when the first dogs came crashing through the window.
...oh, there are just too many moments. |

FF7: Aerith's death and Sephiroth walking through the flames.
Xenogears: Scene where young Fei becomes evil. Scene where the Elements do things "Voltron style." Damn I've got to get that game again.
FF9: Trance Kuja scene and any scene with Bahamut.
FF8: When the Iguions are running through the streets and seeing Griever in battle.
Sonic Adventure 2: The scene where Sonic and Shadow meet for their final fight against each other. |
