Hey Loki,
now that the Two Towers is out and about I'm sure you can talk a little bit on what you've worked on. I'm sure there are a lot of peeps like me who would love to hear about this.
We had a little Paul Campion reunion here at FrameStore|CFC and he was showing some Weta tapes which were very interesting but really didn't touch the Texture and Matte painting subject very much. So go on... throw us a few bones! 
ps. I'm still reeling from last wednesday's TTT premiere.  Well done to all at Weta!

Danny, I checked out Paul's website, some nice artwork there, you should invite him here!
Haven't seen the movie yet, I don't wanna watch it in a crappy theater so I have to wait till 25th... meanwhile I'll try to avoid reading too much spoilers

I did:
Textures for two of the Ents - Rowan and Oak - they show up in multiple instances. And a tiny little bit on Gollum.
Mattes: several irrelevant background extensions, one view of Isengrad from the top of the cliff when the ents break the water reservoir and flood the shit out of it.
Second to last matte of the movie - view of the Rohan Plains towards Mordor, which is all the way at the horizon and wild red glows and flashes going off in the skies above it. In the foreground you see Gandalf, Strider, Gimli and Logolas looking towards it and the camera slowly pushes in between them ...
and that's that ...
oh - and no more mails if I can get anyone a job at Weta, or I'm going postal!!!! |
