This is probably the brightest painting I've ever done. Sorry if it hurts your eyes. I think it's as done as it's going to get, but I wanted to ask ya'll about the shadows from the trees. Two people that I've shown this to didn't think the shadows should go off in different directions. The light source is suppose to be behined the tree casting a shadow on the right of the painting. Perhaps the problem is how distinct the lightsource is? I'm not sure. There is no reference so there are probably LOTS of mistakes and that may be one of them. Tell me what you think.

Looks good! the first thing i though while this picture was loading was that the palette reminded me of eyewoo's recent illustrations series. the second thing i though was that the shadows are going in different directions .
If your lightsource is a very far object (the sun?) the rays coming from is are nearly parallel, which means that shadows should look parallel. If ,however, your light source is much closer, i think showing it would remove any doubt. Good job overall. |
