For the comic artists out there. I wanted to ask if there is specific comic paper to use for pencilling and inking and if so, what's it called? |

I'm no expert, but I've always heard bristol board was used for original layouts. Couldn't tell you why though ![Sad](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) _________________ - Rockstar Ninja Artist Extraordinaire |

bristol board is good for inking, doesn't bleed. _________________ blah |

By no means should you use sketch book paper, and if you do, test the paper with the inking pen you're going to use. Just yesterday, I was trying to come up with some character concepts for a children's book I am writing, and I penciled it out, and when I got to inking, it bled like there was no tomorrow. But I'm sure you're not making a a comic in a sketch book. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Just remember, when in doubt, even monkeys fall from trees sometimes. |

This is the standard answer:
Most use 2 ply bristol board, with dimensions of 11 x 17. 1/4 inch borders on left and righ, 1 inch borders top and bottom.
Hot press or cold press is up to you. Some like it toothier, some like it smooth.
I guess you can trust me--I worked in comics for 8 years. |

You can purchase paper called Blueline paper, or Strathmore paper. They are not the greatest, but will certainly do since you can't buy Marvel, Image or DC paper. This paper comes pre-ruled in non-photo blue.

Many comic book stores carry this paper, but you can also order it on-line. |
