it looks like you're off to an excellent start there, fake.
I suggest drawing from life. I know you were asking about shading and using photoshop (about which, all i can really say is practice), but I feel that drawing from life would help your work the most.
Good work, btw ^_^ _________________ ------------------------

I like, I'm not at all into mangas but I like when the characters are semi realistic. THis one's got 'small mouth big eyes' but not too big and not too small. Flat color like that can be nice, just colour the eyes, maybe try the 'clean cut' style shading typical to mangas, I feel for that kind of drawing its overdoing it to go and shade realistically, up to you, experiment.
btw, once you have scanned use ctrl-L the levels histogram in pohotoshop and ,ove the sliders till the grey areas disappear so you have a nice flat white as a background colour and the paper texture will disappear _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.

hmm. i want the image to be sort of like a portrait...u know..like something done using paints..and stuff maybe i'll try to color the image again using painter 7.
faB: thx for the tips on removing those damn winkles. Can u give me an example of the clean cut style shading from manga so i can observe hows its done?
Walkaer: I borrowed some books about painting maybe that will help me. I never actually color any of my works..most of it is just black and white with little or no shading.![Mad](images/smiles/icon_mad.gif) |
