I haven't read it, but this makes me want to! Smile It's a really good image - nice lighting in particular.

Out of curiosity, was this done entirely digitally, or did you scan lineart in?

awesome book, good painting. all i would say is that you should probably add evn more thorns, because i thought it was described as a being of like barbbed wire and stuff.

I read some of it long time ago. Can remember too much. But the pic sure does look good. I remember a ship that was also a tree, if I'm right. And also there was some priest who found christian symbols in some far reaches of space, untouched by human civilization.

looks very cool, although (having read the book) I think that he needs to be more mechanical... more metal, more blades, and more eyes!
