You've seen the one...the one with Adam and Eve. There's blatant nudity, including the nipple dots on Eve's slightly bouncing breasts and the dual butt shots, and sexual inferences. Real life T.V. shows can show indirect nudity with warnings after 10 PM , and a cartoon like the Simpsons can show the same stuff at earlier times. THAT COMMERCIAL went further than any network T.V. show has ever gone, is shown at various times, and without any warnings or any public backlash.
The Reason: The commercial is based on something out of the Bible, and thus the nudity is supposedly more pure in natue.
This line of thinking sickens me. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for more freedom for the networks, including nudity in the right context and at the right time. What I'm opposed to is the special treatment this commercial received because of its religious backdrop. It's tantamount to a religion overstepping national protocol. I thought there was a separation of church and state....I guess I was wrong. |

well i for one didnt see it, i dont even know what the fuck red bull is. must be american. sounds wicked though.
btw, is the nudity justification of: "[its] based on something out of the Bible" yours or did you read it somewhere? i find that hard to swallow. since when has that justification EVER been used before. haha it would be funny though if conservitive religions were more sexually progressive than your backwards country. time to catch up with 7 thousand years ago, huh USA?

Church and state have never been seperate, it's one of the very few things found in the constitution that has been "stretched". But why the hell should I care, it doesn't effect my life. |

Roundeye : Redbull is not American. It comes from the U.K.
How can you drag the Bible into this ad, as a scapegoat for the nudity? The Simpsons, Family Guy, etc. all have had the same amount of nudity, with no backlash. |

Waa Waa Waa, look at me, I really don't care about church and state seperation, but I saw a commercial and wanted my two cents seen. I never really showed how this was a reflection of the seperation, or lack thereof, of church and state, but i'm gonna moan anyway. You are just desperate for a post and I am stupid. The purple dragons and gurlples are almost here.!.! |

I hope this isn't offending, but this really sounds like a troll. No one feels this riled up about a 20 second commercial about high energy soda. |

Fine....see it however you want, but there is more in that commercial than in any other show. I never thought that providing an explainaton for that would get me yelled at. I mean, it says "Psychotic babble" in the title. This is the "Random" Musings forum right? |

Im with on you on that XandGash, my post was not to be meant in anyway to say you're not allowed to say something like that. The point is pretty evident actually. And this is random musings, but people seem to have their own personal rules about what should and shouldn't be posted, too bad people, it's free for anything. |

their needs to be more sexuality on american t.v. anything to balance the excessive violence.
if someone made a complete and exact translation of the king james bible into a movie. it would go beyond the limitations of any xxx rating.
if the standard says you have to be eighteen to buy a playboy, not only should the bible be banned from public schools and public libraries nation wide, but selling one to a minor should be a federal offense.
if you dismiss my opinions as shit, i sugest you sit down and read the bible cover to cover...and then tell me im talking trash |

yet if you insist, your history as a country should be banned likewise. that'd be funny, eh? |

for one thing, we should not only have sexuality and violence on tv, but perhaps more wholesome television shows, that everyone can enjoy. coming from a personal perspective, i would rather see violence than sexuality.
youre right, the bible is a very violent, dirty, cruel, mean book. and if that was turned into a movie, yes it would be something like xxx. but should we stop selling any literature that is violent or graphic? its part of the freedom of speech. plus the bible is not just filled with violence and sex, but its theme is that of love. |

Yes.. the old testament in the Bible is full of racism and violence. I think the reason In that commercial it shows the breasts and butt cheeks of Adam and Eve, so what if they were seen on TV? They didn't say it was ok to show because they're taken out from the Bible. So if we ban that commercial from TV, what's next? Will we forbid the children to go to the art museum because some exhibit about naked biblical character might give them some wrong ideas? |

Ahcri: you've never been to new york or salt lake city, have you?
i was just trying to say that if the standard says you have to be 18 years old to buy a playboy it seems logical to me that some restrictions should be placed on the bible as well.
t.v. programs in the u.s. are lacking content, networks are loosing money because people rather watch sex in the city than wholesome crap like full house or 7th heaven. the old rules of no nudity and no extreme language are being broken in order to gain higher profits and ratings. well, only if the corperate sponsers dont pull rank...
but, who the fuck cares anyways, reguardless of what happens jerry springer and the 700 club will allways be around draging the bottom of the cesspool. |

I personally agree with who every said that blip about more sex, less violent. How is it not ok to show people, particularly children something as natural and beautiful a thing as sex or nudity but morally ok to have disturbing, graphic, blatent violence, even in cartoons? In France they have no problem showingtheir kids a littel nudity but violence is shunned and hardly ever used. That how it should be in America, maybe if children were brought up to think of sex and nudity as beautiful and violence as un-acceptable we would have less rape, less mugging, less sexual in-equality and less sexism. So who cares if they show a cartoon version of Eve's nipple, atleast they didn't blow her up. |

My English Professor was telling us that the "Songs of Solomon" in the bible is actually some of the steamiest stuff written, and is worse than most ROmance Novel out there, especially the literal translations. So i checked it out. Wowzas hehe.
