The balance looks funny. It looks like his center of gravity is behind his heels, so he looks like he's falling over. In my opinion at least. |

The blending between the highlight and the shadow is done too suddenly. There isn't a midtone value shaded in, which gives it a boxed appearance instead of a smooth, rounded figure.
My take on the picture, is that it isn't compiled with thinking, it looks sort of clustered with the wires dangling about. If you were going for the torn up busted look, there should be more wires and a scrappy metal finish.
Also, the yellow spot lights, they aren't producing much light at all.
The robot's chest is aligned to the lower body, and the dangling wires aren't agreeing with the laws of gravity.
His head is a bit small for those massive antelers...
Cool background though.
P.S. Allan's dad is a singer. _________________ girls like shining |

I think you did the coloring cool, but the pose is kind of boring. But personally I like mecha that are gritty and realistic. I never really went for the gundam style thing. I would probably like it more if it was grittyer, give it a big rifle, battle scars and real world recognizable parts. Make it look like it COULD exist. But thats just my two cents. |

Hello and thanks for the replies, I had em in my mind when repainted
the Mecha placed in the top of this thread.
I added a few more hoses and changed the hole picture actually.
Does anyone have a reference link to hoses or mechas?

That's something I just cannot draw (robots.) I'm very impressed, looks slick!

mayby the coloring is getting better, but sorry i guess this kind of mecha design is bad. Check out some designs like Armored Core, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, Five Star Stories, Power Dolls. Maybe you can get inspiration there.
Mecha Design is not easy, in fact it is very very hard.
At least looking at most US mecha games i think i am right with MO... ))
Most of the designers outside from Japan have really not a very good skill on Mecha.... It reminds me allways of this old airbrush pics... u probably know...
Pics like half naked Girls in armors posing or fighting dragons or just jolding something or doing gymnasticlike posings...
great details on the girls of course, but the designs of the Armors and weapons just suck... in fact there is no design at all.
But, i guess i missed the topic, ne^^;
really sorry, i did not ment to offense your work, it was not about you, don't missunderstand!
Hope you check out the designs i was talking about, just use google to find them.
Best luck, post if u have some new pics. _________________ /// VISUAL FACTORY SITE |

Hello, no offense taken. Mechas are not easy to do I know.
I actually wanted them to looks something like Japanese Mechas.
I guess I will have to train a hole lot to achieve something decent.
Thanks for comments and links to those companys.
I shall see what I can do for the next Mecha Thread.
