Nothing to criticize, i really like it a lot. I wonder if you used some reference for the girl, or if you did it right out of your mind?

Pickman - Thanks, yeah I did use some reference for areas, not for the pose but for rendering some parts of the body. I try not to use ref in my work overall, tho with female anatomy not as strong as I'd like it to be I'll use to learn.

I think her hand should be moved closer to the pole... It doesn't look like she has it resting upon her open hand, rather that it is floating. Her expression is perfect.

Really nice, I like the rough style, and the colours are nice. I wonder what Reaper will pick me up. Razz

I like the way the hand is placed. Gives her some kind of relaxed expression, suitable for a reaper....

beautiful anatomy and pose, not to mention the picture is great. I only wonder if it should have been a little darker for death and all, but it looks great as is.

The figure looks great, and as always I'm really digging your colors. I'm not crazy about how she sort of gets chopped off at the Knees. I think it's because of the way her lower legs are the same color as the B/G, and the way there is that arc of contrast in the B/G that lines up there as well. Otherwise, great image.

I think this is a very striking image.

For some reason, I want to see something gory in her right hand... a head or some entrails or something... something to really bring the contrast between beauty and horror home.

The theme and mood is soooo thrilling in this picture. Not to mention the brushes used look really sweet.

great execution... but it just doesnt work.
nothing really says that the girl is "Death" except for the scythe. she looks too healthy if you ask me. maybe make her left hand boney... show a lil bit of her rib cage. thin the girl out. and i think shes a lil too rosey, in my opinion Death is pale and morbid, the primal fear of humanity. your death is just plain sexy.

keep up the great work!
i miss your black and white studies now... Sad

Looks damn cool and sexy, I hope she is the one that pick me up Smile
Anyway.. The right hand is not holding the stick, just close the hand. You should rise her right brest alittle.
I like the way her hair blend to background.

Cheers for the feedback, seems to have alot of mixed views with this one.

Pickman - Thanks again

Mathew - epilogue is a fantasy and sci-fi art submission site where I have a gallery.

NeoFun - I had the same thoughts about the hand/pole thing. I asked a few other opinions, they thought it looked ok as is, relaxed and rested as I intended it. So I decided to leave it (tho I do see it too).

Deckard, Simoom - Thanks

Inspector Lee - Thanks, yeah bad habit of leaving the very bottom of a painting very sketchy. I do like it to loosen up as it pans out, tho it probably could have used abit more down there.

ejwise - Cheers, yeah I did intend to have something in her left at first, severed head or something gory. Tho as it went along thought it would be better without, like it was just upping the gore factor for the sake of it, which might even take away from it.

Tilokani, Mykoz - Thanks, was quite happy with some of the experimentalness of the brushwork (tho could have used more!).

Malaka_Plus - I quite like the fact she's beautiful, adds contrast to the subject matter which makes it more interesting, and only makes her more threatening and dangerous I think. Plus, I felt like painting something sexy.

Unique - Thanks, the breast could have had more stretch, agree.

Jr - How could I ever leave a place with so much warmth!? Cheers.

These are both wicked pictures. And i would say that even if you weren't from the UK Wink

I especially like Death - really dramatic. I think of all the crits posted above, I'd have to agree with the one about the legs. if you emphasized the highlight on the lower left one (her right) a little bit it would get it more distinct from the background.

and if that's what death really looks like, i might have to smoke a couple more ciggies a day, speed up her arrival...
