SPY REPORT: More Artists Join Episode III

We first reported that there were rumors of Doug Chiang's departure from Lucasfilm earlier this fall, and were able to dig up word that was going to take over some of his work in the art department. Today, scooper Mindbent reports on some confirmation of previous reports with some new tidbits to top it off:
You guys were right about Feng Zhu working on Episode III. He's right in the mix on stuff, working on the final Star Wars movie ever to be made. Interesting is that they really don't have an art director for Episode III per se, really more or less just working as a team for now since the fallout. The usual suspects, Ian McCaig and so forth are back, and someone you haven't mentioned, Sang Jun Lee (a former ILMer) has also been asked to join up.
They are producing conceptual artwork at the rate of several pieces a day, currently based on what Lucas has told them in generalizations, since there's still no script that anyone has seen yet. These people are pumped about this film. This is where the amazing visuals of the prequels meets the story we loved so much in the classics.

It would seem TJ Frame has also joined the concept team !! That would explain why we have not seem them on the boards at all for a few months . I would guess that we won't see either of them on the boards for ... maybe a few years !!

Feng Zhu rocks.
I just saw the 2nd part for the 2nd time (Star Wars)

I guess there will be some cool machines in the 3rd part then.

I sort of figured this out when Feng posted a somewhat cryptic news blurb on his page not too long ago talking about taking on a new project that he's dreamed of all his life, etc., etc..

Good for him. He's an incredible artist, I'm sure he'll offer tons of amazing design to the film.

As far as I know, Eric Tiemens and Ryan church are sharing Art Director duties on SW ep3.

Phil I think your probebly right , Feng probebly does not have enouph expereince to take on as Co-Art Director . I think they probebly just wanted someone who had comparable skills and style as Doug Chaing ..
