ive been thinking a lot, about the future...my life..and what will become of me. Recently, ive been living in the fashion of "ill adapt to whatever goes on". After realizing ive become totally lazy, there is a need for change.

and it just came down to one thing, i live by no standard; life seems like just a routine for me, nothing to fulfill. im just another wandering soul in this world...

So im asking you what guides you in life? loved ones, religion, a set goal, etc..or a mix or all.

It may sound corny and false, but: World Domination.

It's only a matter of a little bit of time.

I know exactly how you feel man, I usually have so much going on with school and work that I hardly have time for myself or working on my art and its really frustrating especially when your trying to get a portfolio together. I think the main thing is getting your life organized, at least that always helped for me. The other thing to take a look at is how your environment is effecting you, the town Im staying at right now is really depressing and small and pretty much its a retirement community. Obviously in this type of an environment there are no jobs worth note or anything so my plan now is to get out of here as soon as possible.

I don't really have a "guide" as such, but the respect of a very close *male* friend keeps me going a lot of the time, and gives me motivation to do things (like study for my Japanese tests and stuff).

Pick up a few good books to read when you're feeling worn out. That's what I like to do.

Lunatique's hit the nail on the head as far as I'm concerned.

On a more practical note, I found that taking two years out working abroad (in a country I love, Japan) after I finished Uni sorted me out.

Peh. Have a good reason for everything you do, and make sure you think more than you feel.

I kinda float through life with no real guiding vision of what my future will be like. I figure I'll probably end up settled down somewhere, doing something I don't like, until I get sick of it and move somewhere else to start the cycle anew. I wonder if any place is right for me...

Well, if you don't know what will your objectives be, and you want to have one clearly stated, it is really easy: HAVE A BABY!

You'll notice your life as an individual dissapear and melts with the one of the little being. Your schedules are no longer valid, your free time vanishes in the air, and your objective becomes making that little wee baby survive, which means: getting works you really hate but pay the bills, going out to stroll with the baby (getting outside home!!! blaarrrrgghhhh!!!), and things like that.

It is that easy. Thus, your bachelor doubts like "where do we come from?", "where do we go?", "has life a meaning?", "will I get a job in the art/game industry?", simply dissapear. Your doubts will be: "Mmmm...is that diaper upside or downside?", "at what time has the next baby bottle to be prepared?", etc... And at the same time, those old questions are answered: We come from the same place the baby has come, we go where the baby wants to go (and to the grave in the end), the meaning of life is making your baby's life meaningful, and NO, YOU WILL NEVER WORK AT THE ART/GAME INDUSTRY.

for me what tayete said is pretty sad, what makes it even more worse is that he is probably telling the truth, (especialy about that art/game industry Sad )

Well, maybe it may sound sad what I've written, but in fact all those factors are really rewarding. You soon notice nothing is too serious being close those little wee persons, and you just worry about things that need to be worried about. And a single baby smile is worth a trillion Spooge Demon pics (sorry Craig).

I didn't mean to sound sad, in fact I am not sad at all. Well, I am really happy now. In fact I am very very happy.

But yes, I won't work at the game industry, but in this stupid office where, yes, the earnings are really high at the end of the month.

To me it's simple, keep yourself happy. It's not hard to figure out what you enjoy to do, even if it's just watching TV, and if that's your major priority you do whatever you have to do to keep doing what you want.

well... first of all, a colleague of mine just became a daddy.... so gaming industry and kids can and do mix...

second, to answer your question:
dont think too far ahead, try to live every day in a way that youre happy with it in the evening. Then the long run becomes inevitable.
If you think youre too lazy, change that. Be less lazy every day. But dont plan a week or a month of being not lazy.
