Light: I changed the post now because I thought you where right about the "i need job" thing and I understand the balbalbal spoogeblalbalba thing better now
You have all the right to express yourself and I feel everything is cool now that stuff has been changed.
Aaaaahh, tranquility and friendship, lets hold hands and sing about soldiers lowering their weapons and hotshot's signing important peace-contracts.
Wycliffieart and Bob, shame that they had to sack people. |

The situation with the Mill is not an uncommon one. They are known to often pull stunts like that when things dry up project wise. A lot of Visual FX houses operate in a similar fashion. They offer the majority of their staff short time contracts usually lasting about 6 months. When big projects are finished off a lot of these contracts arent extended and the company only holds on to its core staff (those with unlimited contracts). When new projects come along the recruitment process kicks off again.
As shitty as it is, it makes sense. The competition in the industry is relentless at the moment and it's getting worse. There are loads of little studios around that are constantly undercutting bids of the bigger companies. Big studios simply can't afford to keep on the masses of employees (needed during the crunch time of big projects) when it goes through a dry spell.
Having said that it is very important to send your folio at the right time. It's best to send it when it when a company is recruiting (often at the start of a new project) otherwise it runs the risk of being shelved and forgotten.
For the London/SoHo based companies (Mill, FrameStore-CFC, MPC, etc.) that time is nigh. So get your stuff ready. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Trust in Trance |

liGHT! dont leave! i find your stupidity and ignorance refreshing on a board dominated by logic and intelligence. please dont go, your too funny.
anyway about ilm, from what i hear from my "sources" is that ilm aactually pays a little less than other big name companies, but once you work there you can pretty much name your price everywhere else. _________________ evil will always triumph over good, because good is dumb.
