Very Happy

Y'know how different music inspires different thoughts in your head? Do you paint or draw to music? If so, what are your favourite tracks for different art?

Here's some of mine:

+ Techno/electronica (Atom Bomb!) for fast, action or fight scenes
+ Anything Enya/Enigma for moody/spiritual scenes
+ movie soundtracks (Gladiator, Fellowship Of The Ring, etc.) for epic, sweeping scenes (battles, open spaces, some landscapes)

... haven't found a use for the pop and rap stuff yet. Laughing

Anyone wanna chime on with their faves?

Yngwie J. Malmsteen with Area 51, I go balistic on that one. Generally I listen to Information, Biosphere, Ugress, Xploding Plastix, Robert Rich etc... everything ambient really.

But I also like a good soundtrack once in a while, LOTR, Aliens, Dracula etc. is a winner.

Most often AC/DC or Lenny Kravitz. But also a Star Wars soundtrack is good too.

Well, I like Jazz most... I love Sergio Mendez, Dave Brubeck and Lalo Schifrin as Backgroundmusic, easy going and happy stuff.

3D-design needs Techno Smile Normally The crystal method, Paul Oakenfold, Sofa Surfers and all that...

My favorite Tracks are "Finished Symphony" by Hybrid and "Agua de beber" by Sergio Mendez & Brazil66.

Cool Thread.

I am right now listening to Pearl Jams newest "Greendisease", gos great with painting. Andrew W.K. works also great.
Maybe I am a Hardrocking Amigo.

take it easy

Holy crap, I haven't heard of half those bands/performers.

Oh, I figured some of the pop stuff's good if you need a quick "emotion" switch (boppy happy song for a cheerful mood, quiet ballad for an introspective mood).

And Linkin Park for angry! Wink

ReAktor - "Finished Symphony" kicks ass don't it? Very Happy

i usually don't listen to music, because i'm not close to a stereo or just don't feel like it.
if i listen to certain things while drawing, the drawing usually carries over the mood

fafnir - my thinking is that's why we DO listen to music when drawing/painting - to put us in a particular mood to influence a piece of art we're working on. Or am I thinking too much here? Smile

Movie music, classical music, club music, relaxation music :/ Buncha other weird stuff. Sometimes 'today's music' like rap and punk, but not excitingly if you will.

Hell, yes! This is some of the stuff that keeps you up and working the whole day. I wonder when it will be an illegal drug because of its adrenalin-rising composition. Very Happy

There are some tracks that appear to me as almost perfect. This is definitely one of it. Another one is the Empirion Mix of Prodigys Firestarter (I think it is on the Hackers 2 Soundtrack)... You shouldn't listen to this music while driving a car... Trust me, I did Smile And it was an expensive experience.
