Hi all! Long time since the last post...
Doing fine?
I finished the new Cover Image for the aquanox 2 box.
some people thougt is is a way to hard. To hard???
Personally i like it. It is kinda typical for my work i think, so it is not supposed to lure guys with arguments like sex.
I had the choice so i have choosen.
It is an important character who represents the storyline in the game, action you see as well. And people who know my other work know i like girls so much... so the outcome is not suprising.
i did not upload the image on my page for now, only a wallpaper, if you like to see the original cove image go here:
http://www.epilogue.net/cgi/database/art/view.pl?id=22217
anyway, have fun with the cover and the game (soon)
you can see more Illustartion work on the official page:
http://www.aquanox-revelation.com/e/index.htm
Stop by the forum as well, it is allways funny (german forum)
See ya
Randis ::

Really interresting. I like it a lot! Especially the reflection area. At first I thought it only reflected her, then I discovered the subs and stuff. It's great to be able to go exploring in a picture!!
I think the shading on her breastplate could use some more work, and the clothing covering her breats area is a little weird, the lighting suggests shapes that isn't there. (the two highlights at the left breast). Other than that I love it!!
Great work. Really dreamy!

Just Beautiful! As for the "too Hard" comment, f**k that. If the game cover doesn't lure you with a lot of action, a hint of sex or both why buy the game? _________________ Smokey, this is not 'Nam this is bowling. There are rules. |

This looks interesting but a bit hard to make things out. I'm not sure I'd go with this image for a box cover. I'd have to see it on the box to know if it would work or not. It might be a bit too detailed and busy with not enough attractors.
Nice work though. Good luck with game. |

It's a great image, and I can't hope to ever be able to create something as good as this. But I agree with light: for a game box cover, I'm not so sure. There are lights and darks all over the place, levelling themselves out in the whole and giving a relatively even tone of gray to someone casually browsing through the store. Nothing to really catch the eye. Also, the typo "in den Abgrnden ... Jger" gets a little lost when it touches the bright spots.
But you're a professional, which I am not, so I guess you know what you're doing and I'll just be quiet now
Except for this: This may sound weird, and I may be the only one (crosseyed enough) who sees it, but: If you look at the image very quickly without concentration or attention to details, that oval thing just on the lower side of her vision-thingie (her left eye) looks like a very freakish, dangling out mutant-eye or something... ...never mind... _________________ "Look...!" protested Arthur.

It's a awesome picture, but I can't really imagine this one on a game box cover. I don't like the font at all, it destroys the whole picture, maybe you could place it somewhere else, or do anything like darken the pic on the area of the text?!?!
But okay, the font's not your fault, so it's just brilliant!
Finde ich genial dass ein Deutscher (lieber wre mir ja sterreicher ) hier so ein groartiges Bild postet! Scheint ja doch gute deutschsprachige Knstler zu geben ![Wink](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) _________________ Due the lack of interest tomorrow will be canceled. |

Well, this could be a lesson for all of us:

Sorry, i forgot to explain!
Well, this is the cover Image, but of course it will look different on the box later. There is a totally different layour concept!
This is just the Image without Text, Layout and Logo.
i will post the cover later. here is a version, but not finel! i repeat it's not final, but i guess you'll get the idea.

I like it a lot. I don't think it's too sexy for a game cover.
one thing i noticed was the verticle lines on the clothing texture don't seem to conform with the contours of her body (breasts). They don't look like they're part of the cloth and it makes ber body suit look a slight bit awkward. But hell, it looks damn cool. i'd surely buy the game. _________________ No matter where you go, there you are. |

Looks great, the only thing that looks a bit odd to me is the area where her stomach muscles should be... theyre a little off to the right side... at least if her breasts are centered on her torso.
Id cut the image to the same constraints as the first one youve posted, the horizontal layout favors the spots where the action is happening... I think it might even be possible to trim it down just a little more (I know Im asking you to cut off pieces of your own pic...).
Other than that - very cool, looking forward to seeing the final box shot. (Hope the release goes smoothly)

I would add some depth to the picture by seperating the foreground and background by color and tonal values. Well, by the clothing texture we can clearly see another time that there is no real effective way to warp textures over body forms in Photoshop. Perhaps the better approach would have been to paint the texture.
Nevertheless a nice and detailed piece with lots of things people like to look at. _________________ Que la fuerza te acompae! |
