In my opinion, u coulda just left it in black an white! I also really like the final color version-except i think u should make the smoke a lil less airbrushy.

I like all the pieces, I think with the smokey picture it gets confusing with all the smoke infront of the tree because there are no source of fire before the tree??? hmmm...was that unclear...just a tip...im not a pro.
good stuff.

The sketch is nice, and so is the first color draft .I think the last couple are a little off track- the palette lost its coherence, and so did the lighting and atmosphere. Make sure you know your lightsources, and make sure you consider the ways their qualities affect objects they interact with.
Consider your first color image, with those red skys- you can point out three main light sources - the sun light (or is it a moon light ?) coming from the right, the sky light coming from all around the scene, and the lava coming from below. each has a different quality , intensity and color- the light from the sky is soft and casts soft shadows all over the place, tinting the entire scene in a red/orange hue , whereas the light from the sun is brighter, casting sharp shadows, and possibly giving the objects it hits more of their original color.
I think that sticking to such a setup (you can come up with something else of course, it's completely up to you) can help you get a better looking piece, something that looks and feels more complete.

Thanks for the feedback guys, helps a lot. I try something similar bilbo, but it always looks better til I zoom out. And I always have to zoom in for detail, grrr.. You're advice helps. I"ll try from now on though.

Urm, one I guess, i meant for the light source to be onthe right, but I see many of the highlight on the minotaur himself are on the wrong side. Bad thing about taking a day off and coming back to a drawing. i'll fix that right away. Tnx guys =P
