ok.. not manny people are aware of the monitor problems ive had recently. my origional 17" monitor burned up because i abused it too manny times by falling asleep at the keyboard and never turning it off. so now i have a 15" extreamly blurry monitor i can barely do art with. i suppose thats my excuse if i mess anything up.

i just recently got hired by guardians of order, if you dont know them they do BESM roll play books. but im doing intirior art for them now. its not glamourus but hey, its a definat start. this is my first picture.

btw, i appologise to thos who cannot see whats going on in the clouds to well. I was rather rushed and.. i cannot see very well on this monitor. sorry..

hey there, wow that is some killer cool sword. I like this picture alot and the other stuff displayed on your site.
What kind of ink pencils do you use? Im also into this inking stuff but Im getting kind of diffused when to use a thick pencil and when to use a thin ink pencil. I guess thick in is when to get shadows...or?
nice piece

well i by no means, really know what im doing either, i cant ink "western style" with the dark grooves and hatches. what i DO know.. is typicly the thicker the line.. the closer you want the object to be to you.. but the thinner the line the farther away it is. it runs on the concept of "objects get smaller as they receed back in the distance" etc. im allways getting bitched at by fellow inkers that my lines arnt thick enough tho. i just dont like the the possibility of messing up with ink, because its rather permanent.

sweet, but a little hard to tell what's going on. Only thing I see is that on the guys visible forearm the underbulge seems a bit large. Very nice pic, are you coloring it?

I love the foreground, the background (the clouds and stuff) seems a bit odd to me. Maybe the clouds need more shading or the castle itself...I don't know it's just that I can't look at the picture as a whole image, I have to seperatly look at the foreground and the background because when I look at both of them I get confused....

Still great work, keep it up!

thanks guys, i upped the contrast on the TIFF file of the full resolution.. so there should be to much more problems with the immage. i hear what your saying about the background and forground being seperate..

and mathew, thats a nice draiwng, is that harry potter/? you have the right idea with the darker lines having more "pop' on the leg. keep up the good work.

Hey

thanks for the reply on the Harry Potter look a like. (Yeah it is some Harry Potter look a like, didnt get the clothing right..hhe).

The last one looks like its gonna be tough to ink. Very nice one.
it would be cool to see the progress on that one too.

take it easy

wow, ratbat, this is awesome! your characters really come to life with a background as opposed to plain white, which is what i've usually seen by you. congratulations on the job! the closest figure... is he supposed to have webbed ears? that what i see on his left side, but not his right.
