to get your mind in drawing mode?
I sit in front of the screen at work and spend a while trying to kickstart my brain..
How do you start it up? |

I always find myself getting the want to draw at the
wrong times. Like work or every time i don't
have the damn tools to.
I kinda ticks me off. |

Visual images. I usually just try to run forms and gestures through my head at a very quick pace. It's hard to explain I guess, I try to get that contour feeling, or something. Then my hands start moving. |

sig worthy.
Awetopsy: If I'm not already in the mood to do art, I don't even bother anymore . . . I've tried all kinds of ways to psych myself up for it, but it just can't be forced with me.
I either feel like it or I don't. Its supremely frustrating sometimes. |

Usually I'll go do something completely unrelated to the task at hand and then I get those flashing images and have to start drawing or designing or whatever it is I am supposed to do. |

I one time went over a year without drawing or painting. =/ Don't know why.....
Anyway........Lately I've been exclusively painting beautiful woman. So, it hasn't been hard.

Awetopsy great question. Definitly something that I myself have put some time into thinking about.
There are a lot of times I don't feel like drawing. But what works best for me is having a good idea to draw. Something that inspires my imagination. If I just site down and say I'm going to draw it usualy doesn't work. You have to be inspired. Sometimes just closing your eyes and daydreaming is a real cool way of coming up with cool images. You can plan the whole thing out before you even pick up a pencil. Works great for me but if that doesn't work try watching a cool movie. Sometimes that can inspire a good idea. |

My job is such that I have to draw a couple of diffferent graphics, completely unrelated, in a day. I find that getting my brain into an inspired mode gets quite difficult. =/ |
