Cool pieces all around me! This has become one fiiine thread.

Today's: using Painter 7's Digital Airbrush, some retouching needed in PS, as P and PS seems to use different colour calibration(?). Even used the Smudge tool. *shiver*. Mood in focus this time. John Surman's "Coruscating" and the "Thin Red Line" soundtrack was of great help.

Fantastic thread. Makes me admire and hate you all at the same time! (I truely mean that in a good way ) Such talent and skill. I want to achieve what you guys are doing NOW, but I guess for tonight I will have to lower the standards with this painting...

Criticism would be great, I am still very new to this digital painting marlarkey. (Or any painting actually).

It took 1 mirror, 2 hours and 5 cups of coffee to do this in Painter and then photoshop to plonk the signature in.
I can't spell.

Shanx: We don't paint the same way, but I'd go looser on the hair - I usually block in a general toned down shape, and do a few "swings" on top for highlights. All in all, I'd say that's two hours well spent

Painter 7 Scratchboard Rake. This is the 13th of the lot. Terrific practice, it's heartily recommended!

Torstein : Thanks sir, I have never really painted very much, only in school, and I really would like to get into it now, but to be honest I am finding it very difficult to get right. I know what I want to do, but I seem just to make lots of errors which rally don't look right.

I will endeavour however, it is paint or bust for me!

Glad to see you are a fellow UK resident

I had to turn around (180 degrees)
to see the mirror...

Gimp, mouse and real quick. Not a serious approach.
Same old same old ...

Shanx: What's this "Sir" business, young fella me lad? I'm only 24 you know. Being discontent is good, methinks. At least it keeps me going. Every painting I do is full of unsolved mysteries to me.

ChiaNi: Why did you take away the simple one? I liked it very much! (this one's well done too, don't get me wrong)

AndyT: "Not serious"? C'mon, give it your best, more time will show!

Hunter: great work so far, experimental lightning is fun, but it can really kick your ass too

Okay, I'll be travelling for 2-3 weeks now, and I sincerely hope I don't have to search for this page when I get back in action. Please keep posting to keep it on the main page! Scratchboard Rake again, pain in the ass this time. Had to leave with a smile...

Ok... this is really inspiring me. As soon as I get home from this bloody school, I'm going to kick everyone out of the computer room and work this into the dirt. I can't wait. I wish I were taking art this term. Gah! The lack of art!

Tortstein: Even though you just 24 years old. your master skill earn respect.

You maybe are old master artist come back from the past life.

Torstein, how did you get so damn good? I suppose it has something to do with this "practice" I've heard so much about.
