Decided to do a speed painting tonight, a little over 30 minutes spent. Just a slightly unfinished flower. But I kinda like it unfinished. Photo ref used.

*shrieks at the dead rat on the floor*
Thanks to you both. Here's another one I did tonight. I don't like it near as much, I think I started working on it too late. I'm sleepy. The vibrant colors of the first one add a lot as well:

I like them both but I agree the First does seem more vibrant. Your transitonal tones on the first are better stated. Making it more realistic.
I know the feeling about doinig work when sleepy. Did one once that I thought was awesome. Then the next day while was awake it didnt have such an awesome appearance to me.
LOL
Oh well, it happens to us all at I guess.
Beautiful work

Even though the first one is much better, they are both fantastic flowers. I wanna give one to my wife! |

I've got printing on the brain or something..... When I saw the title to this piece the first thing I was thinking to myself was, "why would someone paint a picture of a printer". It's one of the most expensive printers in the world, but still....
Well, obviously I'm an idiot because it's a painting of a flower. A nice painting at that, both of them.
Anyway, good work.
~M~
ps. Print side note; don't buy giclee prints. There a fraudulent printing process and not truly archival, same with a litho. And hey, if you're in love with Somerset (as I am), you can use Somerset stock in an archival printer just as easily as an Iris (or Ixis) printer.
Just a helpful tip for the day.
pps. Oh, and only use pigment based UV inks. ![](images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

I heard someone say once that flowers are the best painting practice.
Those are excellent. |

This one was especially quick... like 15 minutes. I decided to attempt a white flower again since I find the color to be easier to handle. photo ref used again...

I just whipped this one out too... practicing with the selection tools (that's all I used, and a faint texture overlay).
Here is one I started to manually paint onto:

I like flowers. When they stick to the string tangas of tasty gurls. |
