Okay, maybe they don't but you gotta admit they make an interesting subject matter.

Crits and comments welcome,

Brian

I love a snail! Well, this one, anyway. I haven't got anything intelligent to say--just that I very much like this piece--the palette and the subject matter are very appealing.

AMAZING. Definitely one of my favorite of your works.

I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon here and say that the concept, brushwork, pallet and composition are all wonderful. I have absolutely no crits, just mucho fan-boy praise.

Glad to see some new work from you dude.

Take it easy,
~M~

Whoa. Very impressive, Mr. Head. Very, very solid piece on every level. The ONLY thing I would change is the rocks behind the foreground. I'd try to push them back more, maybe take some contrast out of them. Love to see a story told in this style.

Riding a snail says allot about the character's patience.

This looks like the same style those old coke commercials and School binders, about 6-8 years ago were drawn in! Highly stylized with realistic exageration =)

*saves*

Can I get this as a poster?(or atleast I high rez version I can print out) I'd like it on my wall!

just what the people said "great work"

so im not going to repeat what was stated above except what Alias said. those rock on the sides confuse the eye. they make it seems like they are in the foreground. make them a lil' bit blurry or less detailed....

keep it up!

Awesome! Only thing to mention are the goggles. How come his face is in shadow and yet his goggles lens are so bright and flat?

Hey, thanks all for the comments! I really appreciate it.

For those of you who had questions...

General Confusion- Hey Bobby! Thanks man, I appreciate the plug... Though my nice apparently isn't enough to get my crew into a job. Man, that still irks me. Idiots.

AliasMoze & Molako_Plus- Yeah I've heard that rock comment from more than a few people. I went in a fixed it on the original and it looks a lot better. Thanks!

Giant Hamster- Hey, I remeber those! Yeah, all the cool kids who used to beat me up had those! heeh J/K.. Thanks for the comments and about the posters, I'm in the process of purchasing an archival printer so I can start making my own posters and prints. Keep checking back to the site for updates. www.imphead.com

InitialT- I've got to admit that I've done more than a few paintings of snails, (This one included) as a direct result of seeing that damned snail.

Neofun- Though his goggle lenses would technically be in shadow I chose to render them light as I felt it would help the viewer connect to the character better. We humans tend to make a stronger connection with a person if we can see their eyes, (Or in this case his eye representations.) It was just one of those "breaking the rules for the art" situations.

Thanks again everyone for their comments.

Brian
