It is a quick one...another pet portrait. I am catching up on non-commercial commissions lately.

Usually, I don't bother to post the reference picture, but this one is so hilarious I just HAVE to:

the ears look ok to me, I've soon dog ears do some crazy stupid things.

**It looks like he just got done hopping and is ready to take a trot in the other direction, or his attention had to quickly change to focus on master **

nice petrait, although I'm having trouble reading the environment. Maybe I'm just daft.

The dog's legs are too short in the reference pic. Haha...sorry...I just had to say it...

Very nice work. No real crits from me. I just can't help but to think that the little hot dog would sink up to its eyes in snow.

Hey Socar, always good to look at your art. That reference image really is hilarious!
The painting looks great as always, but I just don't buy the flying ears in the position that he's in. He couldn't move quickly enough through all that snow IMHO. Maybe if he was jumping or something.
Hehe, but I guess the wild ears are a must for this doggie picture...

- Agrajag - *who loves dogs*

P. S.: Sorry for the babbling. Considering my absent skills, I'm not worthy to brush the graphite dust off your sketches...

wow I love it really nice I like is ears and his expression.

on nitpick: your enviorment includes snow I think if you give the dog a sort of vage white overlay not to much it will make the dog a wee bit less color full and I think it will blend more with each other, well see what you can do with my comments sorry for my bad english I think there are masses of miss-spellings.

Question, you mention commercial commissions or NON but at any rate this implys commercial commissions.

So my question is, are your commissions in Digital Art? or Traditional? Because if its Digital, might I ask what type of commissions you do?

Mark

Well, this picture is going to end up looking quite different when finished (this WAS the finished version, but the customer's sister had other ideas!) But...yeah, anyway.

yeah bob - He's just someone's pet...I'm not sure where he is from.

Awetopsy - No, of course not! Blimey!

Agrajag - Probably very true about the ears--it was requested that they fly out like sails, though, so they do.

Solar - No, you're not daft--the snow does look a bit like seafoam in places.

Malachi - Thanks very much!

HoodZ - Hehe...I like Rottweilers too...they are cute.

Kwiix - LOL! Yeah, good point.

Molako - Hey, thanks! I'd hardly call myself a master of anything yet, though!

merlyns - I thought of doing that, in fact...I really wanted him to stand out from the environment, though. You ARE right, however, technically speaking.

Mark Branscum - My commissions are mostly digital, since I charge much less for digital art, but I do the occasional oil painting. Since I am a full-time freelance artist, and not that famous yet, I do a little bit of everything, as far as commercial work goes--game art, concept art, book illustration (RPG and more mainstream stuff), some comic-book work (only background painting at this point, however.)
