Here's a new and improved Clobba Guy. I like the values better, but I'm wondering if I made the painting too grey.
Thanks for your comments on the fighter/thief. The pose on that one was a suicidal composition. I feel better about this one- but I usually start hating things a few hours later. C&C welcome.

lookin pretty good. The big thing that stands out to me is that the "big clobba guy" seems flat in areas (most noticeably in the hand). I'd say bring in some highlights to make the form pop

Totally- good point. I've popped some highlights amd pushed everything back I think it adds to the depth and metal texture.
Molako- heh heh that's hilarious, but unfortuneately true. I moved down the visor a bit.
Ghosa- thanks I'm obsessed with putting birds in backgrounds. They always seem to add drama to John Woo films so why can't they add a little sum'n to a painting.
Max- thanks man, but you've got to trash me. Unless I'm painting better than Rembrandt, you have to have something bad to say |
