Yo Phil, you changed your name?

I like the illustrative feel to this piece. It's quite different from the work we're used to, so it's quite refreshing in a way to see you work differently and with different subjects.

A number of crits:

1) It looks like the two are pointing at each other with their little fingers. I think the lighting maybe gives the impression that the hands are the other way round with no palms.

2) I find the purple and blue outlines quite distracting. I guess I'm just trained into believing that outlines are dark and clean cut but the effect looks kinda wierd. Stylised, but strange.

3) I like the fonts and the textures.

Are these for a particular publication? I noticed some more on the website.

Not for a particular publication... I started developing this style about 3 or 4 weeks ago with the purpose of snagging some magazine illustration work. My other realistic style has never gotten a commission. I'm hoping it will be different with this style... also, this is a whole lot more fun to do...

I've developed a pretty good list of art directors at magazines. I going to send out samples next week... wish me luck!
