hi,
it's kind of crazy how fast time goes by... but at last i'm producing some artwork again and i'm simultaneously excited and scared witless. the whole painting thing is so... complicated... i wish i had picked it up long ago.
anyway, tell me if these pictures are too big. most of these are more abstract than intended, just throwing paint on canvas and seeing what comes up while the paint is wet. i plan to work on more cohesive, deliberate stuff soon. the picture of the boy is from reference.
i look forward to any comments. roughly in order (sorry about the glare/pic quality):
(shrunk the pics, hope they are more palatable now! )

Some freaky shit you got there. I especially like the cool effects you got goin there with the paint. Very nice. The second one reminds me of the green goblin with dome on his head with a bleeding horse in it. yeah. |

max: thanks. yea the next time i post i won't use such large images .
basement:
master of me: i'm not sure what you mean by canned anger? do you mean like, cheezy, hokey stuff? that is something that concerns me a good deal, like the first painting i don't like much because it looks really cheezy.
venim: it's weird when someone likes the stuff that i personally dislike the most ~_~.
stroke: close... but think of another comic character . starts with a b... i'm not sure where you are seeing the bleeding horse though?
zakath: you're the second person to say that. what the frick~.
beowulf: what bleeding horse??? |

Horsie!
From the top of Batman's head, looks like a simple horse with a guy sitting on its back. |

Great work!
I like the first, too ... but my favorite is the last one, the lossy and bloody style of the hands and theface is ... impressive. |

Very nice! I really like these paintings.
If you're looking for c&c, one thing that you may want to explore are hints of higher detail in a couple of areas. While the loose brushstrokes have a lot of energy, it leaves the whole feeling a bit undefined and out of focus. That's just what I get from them anyway.
Fantastic work though, I'd love to see some more of it on the forum. |
