Hi all. Wow, I've been gone for a long time. So much new art here... so much to look at. Well, here are three things that I've been working on for the last three weeks.
The first one is of my two characters Nicholas and Jeremy planning something in a map room.
The second is them again with a bunch of other guys charging into some unseen battle. There is no real story behind either of them.
The third is just Nicholas. I made it for myself while doing the other two.

Actually the dramatic lighting in the first pic is quite good. The glowing map scrolls are a good concept. Don't be surprised if some one steals it some day
You could improve the effect of the underlighting if the background was darker though. The room is too bright for the amount of color your getting from the glowing maps. (small niggle)
If you find darkening the room makes you loose the standing figure in the shadows, there's always the old favoite, rim-lighting! to pop him off a darker background.
btw- skimmed your site, can see you are working hard on painting - seems like rapid improvement there.

Yaaay! More Nicholas and Jeremy! For some reason I find your characters very inspiring. I hope you continue drawing them, they have a lot of style and character. Hm...examined both pics and have no crits -__- Heh heh. Please keep up the good work!
(btw, I finally got around to playing Turok... fun...) |

Hi! Sorry I am rather late in responding.
Soak: Thanks for the comment about the mood. It's something I'm always trying to get across in my character art. If you can see it than I guess I'm actually succeeding at it a little.
Molako_Plus: Thanks! The last one is my favorite, too.
Merystic: Hi there! I'm glad you can get inspiration with my characters. This is only the calm before the storm as in the spring I will be doing my senior thesis on them, so you're going to be seeing a lot more of them in the future. Hehe, glad you could play Turok. I had to load it up last night and play it to relieve some tension.
NeoFun: I know. I love dramatic lighting so I don't know why I don't push it more.
marc_taro: Yeah, I was happy with myself when I got the map idea. I rarely come up with something very original. Thanks for the advice with the room lighting. It still is too bright, so I may go back and play with it some. Thanks for visiting my site, too.
dARCKLOWN: Thank you. ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
