~The road to the throne, is littered with corpses.
With each step,
Their blood stains your heels.
Closer to salvation, and yet,
Deeper in sin -
The road to freedom comes at
A cost of the same.
The road to the throne, is littered with corpses,
And one of these corpses,
Is of your heart.
Old, black, rotten -
Festering.
Closer to salvation, and yet,
Never have you been
So far
Away.
Headaches are good for me. Yes. No, actually, they're not - but they're good for my imagination. Head hurts so badly right now there's no chance in hell I can sleep, but on the other hand... I've drawn. So... anyway, I give you Hehsebamon.
He began his life as a slave... a tormented, mistreated slave... with a kind, loving heart in spite of his poor situation. As the years went by, however, he found a way to work himself upwards in society.
But every step he took, meant actions that he would once never have considered, and as he progressed his way upwards in society, his heart grow darker, more vicious, by the day... 'til the day he faced the royal family in their throne room, and slaughtered them. All of them. Children, parents, all of them.
He is king, now, and a vicious one. His heart is black with the blood of others, and he has little mercy left in his bones. He treats the slaves as he was treated. If not crueller.

Enayla- I think that this a supurb piece. The environtment, story, costume, setting, mood, compostion, colour are so motivating. Yeah I think that is the word that I want to use. I bow to you.
Two things I have to say are...
The light from the lamps/lanterns I think would go further up the walls.
The other is texture. You paint so beautifully with wonderful transitions. I think that some areas might benifit from some real texture. Like the pants, shirt, pillows. |

Aw, thank you very much.
Yes... textures. I lack at those, sometimes, when I get carried away - the smoothness comes naturally to me. I'll see what I can do this weekend if I get the time =] As for the lights, you're right... I just couldn't get it to look better. I'll give it a try.
Forgot to post this one, and I will, while I'm at it. I feel guilty for only posting my stuff at EK =[

Lovely work.
I really like the first dude's facial features, very symmetrical. I wish I could create awesome facial features like that out of thin air. Well, I'm working on it.
I think the painting lacks depth a little in certain areas (namely his limbs/hands), but over all it's an excellent piece. (Love the scarab beetles btw)
The second one rocks the f*ckin' house. No crits here.
Take it easy,

Hi Enayla, great how you paint people. The leather and metal looks perfect too. Only the things in the background - except the plant - need IMO a little work. The pillows are looking flat and I think there is something wrong with the perspective of the lamps.
The second picture looks very sexy.

Enayla... I think I like the environment of these pics more than the characters. the first one is beautifully put together and that plant frond (sp) brings the whole picture together very nicely.
I love the mistyness of the second one.
great work as always. |

i love them both, the second one especially.
i've always been a fan of your work. i think even if you posted a stick figure i would still say something like
"I love the texture , and the lines are magnificent !" |
