cool one but i think it's should be a (good) wip. just add shadow of hair on face. The hair is easier to do than other parts just use the right brushe.A naturla blue/green eye should be better i think.

Well, then i'd be one of those people. the palette in the original is better (the new one looks too greyish/yellowish), the graphic style and contrast has more of a kick to it, and as a whole it's more interesting to look at.
I do think that the highlights on the hair in the second one are a nice and welcome addition.
(sorry) |

zou - Yeah... the hair should cast some shadows on the face. I need to add that. And as for your question about brushes, I didn't use any custom brushes for this. Only a round feathered PS brush. Ocassionally a hard edged brush for details.
Bilbo - Hey - no need to apologize. Either way you're kinda complimenting my work right? I understand that some people prefer the first. I thought the colors in the original were too pink and unnatural - but to each their own. Thanks for the comment. |

Well done. I thought it was brilliant to begin with. When are you gonna setup your web page? Love your art and photography. Any chance you'd share your source of creativity? |

I decided to go back and rework an old vampire portrait I did (maybe a year ago)? The original version was a bit cartoonish and grainy, and I never finished the hair. I also didn't like the droopiness of the eyes too much, it was kind of weird. I don't doubt for a second that some people will prefer the style of the original, but the 2nd one is a lot better in my eyes.

Very nice work indeed!
I must say that I prefer the newer version though... only one little crit... the yellow spot on her forehead feels a little apparent to me... fix that, and I think you've got a winner (imho)
good work kath! |

new wersion is better for sure.
better colors. better shadows. Basically the first one looks like "decent pic of a girl made on computer" while the new version is somthing more. It got mood, i can feel her looking at me
one crit: idon't like one thing about her eyes. They shoul be darker on the upper part of the yellow stuff (thats called pupil ?) beacause now it looks as if she was wearing coorection lenses with prited stuff on them.
I hope you understanded what i'm saying |

I love her mouth.
But it's not balanced.
Hair, mouth and beckgound are sharp the face is not.
Anyway, good job !!!!!

Beth: I definately like the new one better.
only thing I can think is that the lips dont seem to reflect fangs beneath. other than that, the eyes are gorgeous... very glazey/creepy.
I like the nose better now.
very nice image. |

great rework, jez... although i agree with strata about that odd yellowish spot on her forehead... and maybe, just maybe, her mouth... i'm undecided as to whether i prefer the mood suggested by her mouth in the original or the new one... either way, the new one's definitely stronger, and like oDD said, it has stronger atmosphere than the original...
oh yeah, and she can bite me any day of the week... |

Yeah! Great work, Jezebel. I especially like the detail on her eyes and mouth. Very nice! I'd add some shadows to the hair over her breasts, too. Yes. Very nice.... |

Very beautifull,
I prefer the first one, because the hair is very black and the skin very white, I think that looks great! but the second one is more realistic.

A female vampire, being a temptress of sorts, should be tempting- exactly what the second one is and the first isn't. |

This rework is much better than the original.
However, I prefer the original mouth. It was a bit more opened and suggested she was going to bite you. Now, being the mouth more closed, it looks as she's standind still or something. Don't know...

beautiful job either way, Jez! actually, I do prefer the second, but I think you might have lost a little too much focus of the first with the new blurs. granted, the hair looks tons better, especially around the face, but I think the face is a wee too much airbrushy. It looses some of the character being too soft, I think. but that's just an opinion. both are excellent ;} |
