Haha - from day one I was never good at drawing people... I'm still not. But this is my attempt
-- my first time truly trying to draw person on photoshop...
First my sketch (which is bad to begin with - cursed trackball)
Then came along trying to clean it up...
And I decided: Yeah - hey. That's pretty good considering how bad I usually do things.
I showed some people and they all said: It's a scary looking guy!! So I decided, heh - why not shade it to match that mood.
So there you go!!
Haha. Comments and crits welcome.
I had better get back to the books and stop spending time doodling :X
Later and take care guys. |

I've been coming here for some years now, but I've never posted art. I just truely enjoy art. It seems you have the same problem I have.. making things look 3d. I know I have a pretty good eye about proportions and seeing what's wrong with an image. I've learned it from this board. But I still cant draw. As much as I can paint shadows or highlights, it wont look 3d.
I know normally noone replies to threads like these, but I think it would also help a lot of readers. So if any of you has tips or exercise to do about this, please share.
Thanx.

No no we are really different persons! You can see that from the artistic differences from our work. I for instance like to use flowers and grass in my art. |

yes Dod and artist 112 are the same person, why bother dude. Its just lame to think that you actually bothered to register a another username created some stupid artwork upload and post it.
Anyway Jinia, well done good to see you battling your weaknesses. But still be more couragous and just let loose and paint like crazy. It seems that you are caught up on the details and pefection. Just try and speed up the process and pump as many faces out as you can. Look at the work of others especially the better ones in the speed painting thread.
Goodluck mate
and just go for it! |

Hello again.
Freddio, I know you probably think our works aren't that great - yet. Well no wonder, we're new promises But Artist112 really is a different person. Our styles are way different if you closely look at our works - the great difference is colours, my mate really loves colours, such as nice flowers and so.. I personally prefer a little bit darker colours..
oh well, im here to discuss about art, so I decided to give a new try for my art skills *smiles*.
Here you go:
I decided to try whole new style - and I think I made a good piece of art. Anyway, I'd love to know what I should do better next time, so please, give me some feedback =)
Thanx for your time! |

Thanks Freddio.
Decided to listen and just sketched something up:
It's one of myself while drawing (because I have this wall mirror that until now I only used to look at the back of my computer)
*shrug* I think I'm getting better |

I've always had this problem with drawing realistic people. I always have to tweak it in some way. Eh. Cheers to us all.

The sketch is a huge improvement over the original. Nice work! I can't remember if freddio mentioned it, but another important part of learning facial anatomy is drawing faces from life. Draw your friends and your family, and ugly people with big noses in walmart. Trust me, it really helps. Keep it up!

Don't know. It started serious but then Dod and artist112 (who is most likely the same person)started posting here. Created their own new accounts and drew up their own little pictures.
I'm about ready to delete this entire thread/post...
(btw: Thanks for the tips Cicinimo.. I'll do it when I find the time! Haha - classes really starting to get in the way of things. :/ )
I drew one more picture yesterday.. never bothered to upload it. I personally think there's some major flaws in it. :P Oh well! I'm off to study *grumble* Later guys. Take care.
