Well since I started this thing I might as well add to it eh?

Well here's a low poly 3D model I made not to long ago.
His name is Guy.

Wow what happened to this thread? I thought there would be tones of pics for this one.
Oh well. Maybe if I had more time on my hands.

why do people think rendering a crap 3D model with a raytracer makes it any less crap....it looks more realistic....but still crap

Hey he's not crap. He's cute. And I didn't use a raytraced renderer. That's a screenshot of him in the 3D program.
And there's no bashing peoples stuff around here. Constructive crits but no bashing.

The models are good yes, but I'd like to see some texturing. That's where the real money is Ok it's modeling and Texturing but no model is complete without terxtures.

That just like saying "U SUXORZ", instead of giving advice.....he could have said "hey man, now put some textures on 'em"!
That was just being blunt in a stupid way.

I like yours though Machinegod!

And +Jibe+!!!! WOW, excellent!!!

hold on there. I like his models. I never said anything about not likeing them. I would just like to see some texturing. What I said was no model is finished until it's textured. My onlt beef is the design on the last one. I saw that one in progress and I liked it much better in it's early stages. I don't like the legs or hands on the final version. I think his legs should be more useful looking and not so flashy and pointy. And I think the arms should be big cannons. How's that? Is that better? Kepp modeling dude. But start testuring as well.

my remarks about crap models and raytracing were meant to be taken as a general remark about the attitudes of poor sculptors believing that rendering it with GI makes it any less poor.

however, i was inspired to make this remark after seeing zpods second robot. its a bad model. its a nice design and could be taken further, but the actual model posted was poor.

a fair comment i think you will agree.

I'd posted this in a thread of its own a while back, but I fixed a couple things since then.

If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all?
How was your comment helpful to anyone?
If you were that compelled to make a comment you could have worded it better instead of calling it crap.

why re word it?

if i think something is crap, i will say its crap.

im also not going to translate my comments for you because you are too stupid to understand them.

but i do recommend that you re read my comments over and over until you do finally get it. just like drawing...practice makes perfect
