In Painter 7 you can also interactively change the brush size using shift+option+command and then dragging the circle to the desired size. In Painter 6 it was just a two button combo. On the PC the keys might be slighty different. It's absolutely addictive --you'll soon wish Photoshop used something similar.
little paintover on Scott Young's Hellboy. We're working on a new project together.
Painter 7 watercolor brush test. I designed a Painter 6 style watercolor brush for the new engine.

I love you all! This thread is wonderful.
Bang: eyes lower, nose smaller. Great definition of the masses on the upper part of the head, but you lose the strong shapes on the lower portion. Values are good, they usually are with your stuff. Your persistence is very inspiring.
This was done in about 10 minutes in OpenCanvas. I'm still trying to get used to my tablet. It is frustrating the hell outta me.

Tried to experiment with edges. Lost and found, hard and soft, etc. Photo ref included.
I noticed on Spooge's last one the rake type effect that kinda softens the edges. I like how on the forehead as the edge goes up near the top part of the hairline and the colors get hatched together like that. Makes the edges more intersting and gives off energy to draw in the eye.
