Finally, I think I'm getting there. Very proud of this one. Original is huge - many times larger. Any comments, crits, or tips for improvements would be most welcome. |

Your colors are very beautiful.

But be careful with the faceproporties.
Nose mouth and eyes are off....
Anyway I really like it ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

Thanks so much. It's nice to hear people saying they love it (this is my first time I've gotten those comments)!! Anatomy is hard, though, but I'm proud of this one considering that the version prior to this one was this.
Horrible, eh? ewww. Without the help of the folks here, I'm sure it wouldn't have turned out the way it did. Thanks a bundle. |

Great stuff, but try using more dramatic colors like the original. Drop the sharp shadow underneath her chin. Also, is there any reason you got rid of her scars? Oh, and in the future, post what refs you used. (just to be polite to the original artist)
Great job!

Oops! Forgot to add the reference:
David Mack's Kabuki (not sure which issue) - sorry didn't mean to forget that. I don't really want to scan it to ruin the comic book, but if you must, I'll try and get it done.
So this is *not* original, but just changed some details to give it a different flare.
Anyway, hope I didn't offend anyone. |

good start! the face has some anatomical issues though, the nose could be more defined, making her face less flat. I think you should check out micke's post in max kulich' portrait thread. other than that the head is way too large in comparison with her body, makes her look a little alien-ish. the stance is correct, imo. hopefully this will help you.. keep the good work up!

thought it looked a little Kabuki-ish.....
Nice job in recreating the acrylic type washes with the dots of colour. Gives the piece alot of movement.
The highlights off of the skin and the blending in places strikes me as odd as I see the light source as something very close to her and so the mid tones would be suppressed and the lights and darks would stand out the most. |
