Impressive, Mon!!
This is the kind of doodling I think you really get something out of. Nice stroke, anatomy looks accurate to me, lighting as well. Keep these sorts of things up!! Maybe finish it? Nice work.

Very nice. I like the realism you've captured while keeping your painting style nice and loose. It kind of reminds me of Frazetta's work. |

I thought that I'd make a pic for the speedpainting thread, but I ended up using way too much time on this one... I'm still not totally friendly with Painter, nor with my Intuos, but I think I'm slowly getting there.
Any thoughts guys?

Yeah, thats got a nice feel to it - very Frazetta - but give us a focal point! Render in his head at least and some more of his body. |

Thanks a lot people!
el scoono - Thanks for comparing me with Frazetta, he's a great source of inspiration for me! The energy that man can put into a painting, it's unbelievable.
sumaleth - good point there, but that is also the key to keep the energy of the picture, knowing when to stop. But I agree that a little bit of more refining would do good for it. I'll probably let it rest for a while and see what happens.
ZakatH - Luis Royo owns me?! you can't be serious... =)

I have to agree with the others, it looks very Frazetta, especially the green treetrunk and the strokes in general. I've seen Bisley and even Boris Vallejo render trunks like that too though.
It seems you're hiding too much in the dark.
I think you should render the head. The face is very important to get right. |

Hey, I like this. I agree with the others who've said you should do some more rendering in certain areas, but over all it's nice. Great use of color.
ANJ-77~ James Ryman is also big on painting those "Frazetta style" moss covered trees and fauna. I think that's a popular technique of many fantasy artists currently in the field. Not to say it's not a Frazetta bite, but it does seem to be a somewhat common practice.
Take it easy,
