I'm not usually one to post raving fanboy comments, but I really like this piece quite a bit. The stillness of the figures is marvellously contrasted with the motion in the "background". It's more than delightful, it's "scrumtralescent".

yeah I agree with dogfood, very nice pic, especially the babys head. Gotta download painter and check it out. |

Yeah, good feeling going in this picture. One thing though, the tinting tool is quick and mush (especially for greyscale work, I think), I like it a bunch as well. However, with colour work, I find the colours can get a bit muddy using it. Might want to go in and resaturate/add variety some places.
Just a thought, I love the mood!  |

What, no tinting tool on the background? Then what is it? Oil pastel with no texture? Anyway, the Tinting brushes came with the upgrade to Painter 7, and is very quick. It's supposed to dampen all the buyers' cries for the old watercolour brushes, but it's not.
Anyway, it's the same result, it's got this "colour-pickup" + resaturation effect that can make colours a bit bland and dull sometimes. Sorry bout the mix-up. Have fun  |
