Been working on this off and on between projects. Finally got it done. Started from some line drawings of bikes I had done for one of Delopolis' threads. Wanted to use them in something more finished, so I cobbled them together into this.
Why B&W, you ask? Because I've been working on capturing light, and my friend Ron Lemen (Fred Flick Stone to you CDF/Sijun veterans) suggested that I tackle value alone first, so I did.
I'll try to post some full-res sections up in the next couple of days, but I'm on a job, so not much time!

wow!!! very nice..
my only crit is that when you say Future race bike, it implies fast.. the bikes in the background dont seem to be moving very fast.
other than that, I think its a spectacular image!! |

talk about some full scale kick-ass work.
i really love the concept and i wonder what this would look like in colour.
two things bother me... the guy who is fixing teh wheel, his visor is almost "too" reflective. and the racing track is raised of the ground right? its kinda hard to tell, i think you should have more contrast with the race track and that little slit of cityscape you see between the pit and teh track.
keep it up! |

Sweet!
Lots of contrast inside the shadows. I guess this is a choice, right? Are you going for a blown-out look in the sunlit areas?
Anyway, this is a fine piece, as usual. |

Oh, excellent stuff waco !! love the design of the bikes, and think you made nice values. If I would comment anything, it is that since you got one focal area both on the left and the right side, it's a bit hard to capture what is happening at the first look. It might be better to exaggerate the dark area and light area(left/right) to separate the elements a bit (?) dunno....But, it looks great, I envy your talent for technical design
btw, how's your company going ? |

looks great.. only thing that really confuses me is the way the bikes are going.
coming out of the pit does he do a U-turn to get back going the right way? To me it seems like the bikes in the background should be going the other way and the pit station flows into the race track.
I'm not a big fan of nascar racing so I'm not sure how the pit stations work, but to me that's how I think they are.
Hmm, I just realized it was an open gap between the pit and the racers.. I thought it was just a rail guard.. then my previous statement might not be true because he could be coming out onto a different road that wraps around to where the other bikers are at.. guess that works :P

Hoo boy! What a response! Thanks all...
Awetopsy - would have been faster, but I put too much work into them to motion-blur them that much! I do have a version where they are more blurs of speed (as well as one where they are un-blurred) but after all the detailing I just couldn't bear to do it and have it completely unrecognizable... I know that's not very big picture thinking...
*sigh*
Molako Plus, xmmx, Keredleung- The detail below should explain the 'reflection'! or maybe not... intended to be a HUD repair schematic thingy. The raised track really isn't popping, a few people have mentionned that. Not sure what to do about it, it's already pretty blown-out.
AliasMoze - Hey! Great to hear from you!! LOVE the short film. Incredibly professional. Great story. Great shots. I should be writing this on your thread, sorry... Yeah, I was trying for a blown-out bkgd... guess I get caught up in detail a little much... I'm going to take a pass at contrast adjustment.
Elliot - Helas! Les fanatiques ne sont jamais content!! Si BMW peuve mettre au point un 'chopper', pourquoi-pas Ducati?(me voici qui cours a l'abri d'une barrage soudaine de tomates pouris )
Freddio, Elf, Sumaleth, Boomstick, hoodz, manic, neff, jayceel - Thanks, guys!
Joachim & Micke - nice to be back! company (me) is going well, I'm on a movie (The Outer Limits) finally getting a toe into Hollywood. How is yours going?
Nrob - what you said... I can live with that!!
Here are a couple of details at full res:

the circuit may not be an oval, it can bend on the other side, and from this view its another part of the track
anyway, superb, the guy's visor really attracted my attention, along with the chrome and such |
