The end of high school is right around the corner, and one of the final criteria of Art is to produce a folio. This is my second piece based on the Four Horsemen, focusing on the first rider, Conquest.
'I looked, and there was a white horse! Its rider had a bow; a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering and to conquer.'
-Revelations 6:2
Besides the folds of the cloth bits still needing a bit more tightening up, I think it is pretty much finished.
Thank you for your time and any C&C. |

The cross; The perspective doesn't match the ribbon tied around it. We're suppose to be seeing the cross and everything attached to it from a view located under and looking up at it at about a 30 degree angle. The bottom stem of the cross is also shorter than usually depicted... which gives it a sense of unbalance, confusing the viewer as to whether it's pointint up, sideways, downwards, etc.
I assume the skeleton and bow is also a 3d model? They look fine, but somehow out of perspective again.
The color use is very confusing. Everything is either brown or white-- very monotone colors which doesn't help the image at all (yes, maybe your point is to make it look dead, but, even so, you need to look into the use of some color). It's hard to make out what it the cross, the arrow, the crown, the face plate, etc, as they all blend in together. One way to remedy this probably is to change the lighting setup, and maybe rethink the wooden crown and face plate idea... perhaps metal or something that will detach itself more.
The background I cannot make much sense of. I don't know what that upside-down wooden rope-bridge is doing there (with the arrows on them?). Are these swords growing out of the ground in the background? Or upside-down crosses? I have no idea what this is. Sorry.
Good luck. |
