Hi all,

For some reason I seem to be going through a cloud phase. Whenever I sit down with the wacom, start doodling landscapes or whatever, it's always the clouds that I find myself focusing on.

I guess this is one of those things you just need to grow out of.

Hope these provide momentary amusement.

I tend to use OpenCanvas when painting these days, but the grainy image was a result of trying out Pixia.

Cheers,
Frand

Hey, cool clouds. You've captured them very nicely, far more believably than I was able to in my feeble attempts so far. I'm having a hard time being amused by clouds, though

The first one reminds me of some CD-cover, but my fav is the third. Wanna go there. Wanna have vacations and go there...

I like the last one most.
You could try to add more detail there...

Agrajag, the third one is actually how I remember the view of the lake at our summer cottage. My personal haven

My scribblings do absolutely zero justice to some of the sunsets you can see there.

Max, happy you like that one. It's amazing how one gets blind to their own works in the middle of painting them. I was happy with the piece when I signed it, but now that I look at it I understand your point completely. Question is, should one retouch signed pictures, or just learn from them when making new ones?

Hi again,

Back in my old traits. This time I had a look at the old Dutch Masters' paintings, which inspired me to try out a yellow/green palette. So here we go, "Van Goyen Valley"

Personally I'm quite happy with the "physicality" of the clouds and the contrast of the image.

Making this image lead me to wonder one thing, though... how puritan are you guys when making your images? I mean for instance, do you color correct your own images, or stick with the old-fashioned way and only use a brush and picked colors.

Good question...
I don't know.
I would say: if you feel like retouching this picture - do it
If not, start a new one

To your new one...
Wow, this is awesome.
I like it really. Nice flair, perfect clouds.
Post more of your art - it's very good.
