Here some illustrations I feel like I've spent too long on and they are still not quite. C&C welcome.

What do you find that is not quite right about them? I can kinda see what you mean but I can't quite put my finger on it. The only thing I can think to change would be the metal objects in the Orc picture. The axe and weapons almost look as though you could mush them with your hands like soft cheese. I would try harder edges on those.
Other then that I don't see much else to comment on. They look great.
The Machine God: Squats? lol, You're not one of the 2 people in the world complaining to Games Workshop to put them back into 40k are you? |

Really, the main thing that stands out to me is the anatomy. The figures are a bit stiff, and hunched looking - it could help to do more drawing on the figures - really work out the anatomy before diving into rendering. Some real world figure drawing class will help your invented figures immensely. Just my 2cents... |

Yes i am one of the only two people left bitching about Squats. I love squats. I have an army of them. I want them back.
A friend of mine an I were making an army list for them in 3rd edition. We're making a web page for it but we're not quite done. I'll post the link when it's finished.
I've done a bunch of concepts for them too.
here's some.
The slytly altered uniform
the new Exo Armour

And lets not forget...
The Master Engineer
And some new units...
A battle tank
A smaller version of the Goliath Mega Cannon
And how about bringing those good old robots back

ok here's that Codex Squats I was talking about. It's not finished. Some of teh descriptions are not done and some more pictures have to be done up. Most of the point costs aren't figured out yet and there is no armoury or speacial rules or characters. But this is the basic idea and troops that will be in it.
hope you 40K fans enjoy. And maybe some of you who aren't 40k fans.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah Gimabal, I think you are right. The edges on the weapons are a little soft. I think the hands on the Mandrakes are looking a bit too mushy and generalized too. |

Hey all! first post here! drawings looking good cept for them looking too smudgy as i think someone else already said. A bit too much shadow where there shouldnt be under the orc. Otherwise they look really good and me bieng a warhammer fan only adds to the novelty Im designing a new charater for games workshop at the moment for dark angels so ill put it up soon. Good stuff though. |
