I'd be laughing too, if I was holding what it looks like he's holding .

Thinking of that he's holding same thing in the right what he's holding in his left, it looks like a damn orgiastic pic...

nevermind... its far too late today and i am far too drunken =)

He's got a pot belly. I like it though. Probably not what I would of envisioned had I the skills to attempt it. I may of gone more towards the very lanky and thin build, jester cap, very agile and quick type..... or a shorter, fatter, jolly old saint nick but still tells dirty jokes type.

But it is easy to arm chair critique when you didn't do it. I love the smirk on his face even though it took me a minute to make it out.

My assignment was to create a robot who retains a database of millions of jokes and who is also the ship mechanic/tecnician.

This was a challenge for me because I have never painted/drawn a robot before and sci-fi style pics are a new genre for me.

The client likes it so there will be no revisions made to it but I would still like to get some feedback (good or bad) on it.

good job, i like the way how you the did the scratched metal texture on the shoulder.
The bot has a kind of reptilian look i think.

I always wondered how robots could have such a smooth articulated mouth. Your system could work...

Something about the lighting or the colors- doesn't really feel like he's gripping the pipe with his right hand.

Otherwise this is awesome work.
As a learning artist I have to ask, was the 6 font-tooled on or did you actually paint it? It's very finely done.

Max Kulich: Thanks!

Beowulfthefallen: puff

badoli: ??

Blind Tree Frog: I had to take into consideration that he is supposed to be the ships technician too. Otherwise I would have done the robotic clown thing.

blok: Thanks!

ELLioT: I always wondered that myself. I thought the shifting plates would be a good idea to explain it.

mof: Thanks! This is my first time creating a robot so I'm glad you like it. Up until recently most of my stuff has been fantasy related.

Sup_Ben: Thanks!

DarkVVulf: Good observation about the hands gripping the pipes. I didn't even notice that.
The six was done with the font tool. I could have painted it but I was lazy.

Is all good. I was thinking a mix between scotty from startrek and the tin man from return to oz when i wrote that.

I do like this work.
