Do you have a larger version? That line art is fantastic. You really should finish it

Too bad... You have a good start on the rendering. Would be a shame not to finish it. Good sense of depth on the rendered leg though.

That's just gorgeous. The lines are so clean and legible, I love the shapes too, real convincing. I like the hole for an optional arm left unused...
I don't see whats wrong with the rendering done so far roundeye! Finish it!!!

How do you get so stylish backgrounds?
Do you use the Painter engine that much, or can it also be accomplished with Photoshop?

@barontieri: ~35 min?....wow...

Bully:
The background is half painted with acryl, half worked in painter using palette knife, and saturations exagerated in photoshop.
Can't wait for your next exo crazy skeleton Barontieri!

lol, that's wonderful.

Your style reminds me a lot of Frost, which is quite obviously an enormous compliment.

this is a neat thread!

barontieri: fantastic work... you should finish painting the first one. i can see it finished in my MINDS EYE,, and it looks wicked..

Vyle: hah! thats awsome! Good old "Da Vinci" technology. when i had to design the Jabberwokie for Alice i refrenced a bunch of Leonardo Da Vinci stuff to get ideas for his wings. the end result was pretty interesting.

heres my lowly contribution. its a half assed sketch thats half finished. i did it a while back, but i still thing the idea is funny.

this guy is some kind of supermutant Savant who with no legs.. and this is essentially his tricked out wheelchair. incase you cant make out my whispy lines, hes standing on two big robot arms which he controls with two wingman-pro joysticks. so he walks with giant hands instead of feet. and yes,, he could deliver maaad beatdowns when provoked. try to imagine the animations for that in your head..

The poorest quality in this thread, but I thought I'd contribute as well.

heu!!
just open an anatomy book and observe the way nature has made our articulations which is the most important thing when making an armour and/or exoskeleton.
another point is to look at the mediaeval armours as well, they are such interesting, and insects are a strong source too.
a good artist is Masamune Shirow (Intron Depot 1&2 and ghost in the Shell), nice work and good design.

Okay, at the risk of sounding entirely pathetic, that is the BEST painting I've seen in a very long time, Vyle.

Your palettes are always so stunning. You're a master of colour. I particularly like the shadown underneath the vehicle.

GREAT work!
