now presenting ALIEN HOMINID: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view.php?id=59593
drew it all out in flash, handed the animations to tom fulp of newgrounds.com, had the guy from LHM do the music and ta da we finished. I'd say if we kept on it, we could have easily finished in a month but we kept losing interest and/or slacking. haha
anyway, enjoy! DO NOT FORGET TO EAT THE ENEMY'S SKULL! You can do it by pressing jump and down while over and enemy, then when riding on their head, press the trigger button to eat it and watch their buddy's reaction HEHEEHHEe that is my favorite part.

Love your graphic style SYNJ btw!!
This game is hard!!!! The bad guys are shooting constantly! Especially for the begining of the game, it is a bit depressing to get killed all the time. But maybe I need to practice more?? |

i should have mentioned that.. everyone says its hard. well of course! if it was easy it'd be over quick. there's only one level hehehe
to put it in perspective i can get through the level with about 5 lives left. should be alot easier with a bit of practice i guess |

Cool! very nice animations. The gameplay is insane.. very hard. It's good in that sense, but it is a bit of a turn away for beginners needing some encouragement.
Really nice work! I'm just getting into developing flash games myself, so this was really interesting. What is the framerate of the movie? |

Thats one of the most successfull arcade emulation flash games I've seen. Very nice work. Ive been trying to do something like that for a long time, but all my experiments havent worked. Too slow or too buggy or both.
This might be a rediculous request but I could learn a whole lot from the FLA file for that game.. is there some way I could get it?
Here are a couple experiments that are actually barely playable.
http://www.geocities.com/brokedrone/OldIronsides.swf
If you think the keys arent working.. it's either you havent clicked on the flash window.. or that it just takes a long time to steer the ships. It's remake of an old Apple IIe game..
http://www.geocities.com/brokedrone/fishgame.swf
It's a big download, but thats because of the music The music is the best part of the game.
I havent polished the interface to either game cause I'm still working out bigger bugs.. sorry bout that.
Once again, nice work to you and your team synj ![](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

yo!
glad you guys enjoy it yeah some people say too hard, some say not challenging enough. personally i think its just right. i can finish it with anywhere from 3-5 lives left. that sounds about right? i think?
oldsuede, sorry man i didn't program it so i dont even have the .fla if i wanted to give it out! haha i just make animations and throw em at Tom Fulp.
Thanks Napalm! HEHE yeah i finished rakeman and sent it to him but he didn't seem very impressed somehow.. aka never going to be made. we have a few other ideas cookin as well as a level 2 for this project.
the xbox game (Whacked!) comes out in october. its one of the main launch games for xbox live! woohoo! |

It is downloadable awetopsy, you just have to view the source for link (and add a little to it, http.. etc) Not sure that is what synj or newgrounds want people doing, or I would post the link.
Synj!! I still want to know why Cornelius Wreesvijk was your music choice for the other swf:s!! |

ah, happiness!!!!!
2Fan: once i did a search for polka and found Cornelis' stuff. I did a search on him after hearing that tune, and started collecting his work. His stuff is great to work to, and sometimes I am like "you know, this tune I was working to fits the piece". That's how those 2 showed up in there. |

Great stuff, Dan! Always a pleasure to see you animate. In the next version, maybe push for some secret areas that require some platforming prowess. Would be nice to see an orangeyfat altar/fountain somewhere ;]
Keep it up. And we all demand more 3d stuff as well! =] |

I came to the second boss with one life left and he shot me right off when I got there.
Nice animations! Reminds me of the bloody animations in the Fallout series.

Synj, you've got exellent taste!
I find it awesome that Cornelius tune suits you while working. I always listened to him because of the lyrics, he got some kick-ass lyrics, to bad you dont understand them.
Btw, the music you had for the animated koy parts and that other series, with the cubes(and tiger)... stunning work, you combine art and music very well.
