All I have to say is that I've been contemplating the essentials of backgrounds lately - what's the least you can get away with, ya know? You've pretty much boiled it down to the essentials here in a beautiful way. Look at how much the two colors (blue and yellow) are saying in the main shape, there is so much structure with so little information!
I like the stylized aspect of it too, the leaning structures and so on.
Very direct, very communicative, it's got me thinking...
So what's wrong? I'd like to say maybe some smaller structures closer in perspective, to give the "city" thing depth, but that might take away from the direct simplicity of the background shapes.
Could the lines in foregroun be varied, or even become objects themselves with some more rendering?
Also, what if you were to put just one or two more levels of detail in the smoke/clouds to round them out a little?
All in all, you've gotten to the essence of this picture, so it's solid from the ground up. My suggestions are more to articulate what's going on a little.
