Stay away from filters. Stick with the same techniques you used with tha old-school Krylon and you'll be much better off.

Don't let Photoshop make your image.

If you wanna see true graphiti artwork, look at some of Goldie's (the dj) stuff, he was actually world reknowned you know, his stuff is awesome. I can't remember exactly where to get some, but I'm sure you could find some through searching. I have some on my comp somewhere, I might be able to send them to you some how.

this is just terrible. this has to be the worst looking thing ive seen on this forum since ive been here. and ive been here for a long time. if this is what 'non-conforming' is, then i think i'll conform. especially if it means my pieces will look good. i dont conform and my stuff is original/good, why does this have to be this way? this took no skill, it has no composure, or composition, good colors (theyre all smeared and grey for allahs sake!) id continue, but id have a heart attack. horrible...horrible...

I think it could use about 4 more lense flares of varying intensity on the bottom half

Right now it's a bit unbalanced with 8 on the top by my quick count and 4 on the bottom.

Then again, balance is pretty formalist and conformist...

I think it might be instructive to see all your critics' 2nd Pshop images in here. That might quiet things a bit.

Keep working at it. Try doing the same image without going to the filter tab...

I think people react so strongly to lens flares (including myself) for a couple of reasons:

1) it's easy. thus, beginners tend to use it a lot.
2) using filters in an obvious way is less like traditional media - it's as if you didn't put in any real effort...
3) you learn more, and it looks better if you try to achieve the same effects without the help of filters.

HAHAH thats so true oDD. We should make a new forum called "Tell Me I'm good" where people just post there pictures and everyone says shit like: "Jaw drops" and "Amazing keep up the good work!". I think we would cut down on like 50% of the posts people make here.

Don't worry X, this happens to me all the time, I am definetly not even 1/4 of most of the artists here, but let's face it, some people are just assholes, you asked for crits, and you got it, I just wish that these people would actually give you help instead of just telling you how bad it is.

Truth be told, this isn't a very good picture, but you can get better with time. If you wanna get better, read tutorials, stop using filters, and try to learn more about this kind of stuff. Learn about better composition, and how to make this stuff better. I hope I helped you at least a little bit there.

2nd Photoshop attempt? My first attampt was 1000 times better, and it actually looked like something. If you dont want crit dont post your shity pics here. We dont have problems with graffiti, we have a problem with the lack of any artisitic sense. all this image looks like is you just randomly started selecting PS tools and then just working for 15 mins ( if it took you longer, then Im sorry but there is no hope for you). If you don't like critz Dont post your kindergarden art here.

and as for you Sightunseen, how dare you call us assholes. He asked for critz and he got em, and then he started acting like an ass. We were honest with him, we seemed so harsh because there is no way He can improve this abomination that looks like monkeys threw crap at the wall and smeared it ( actually that would look alot better, and would be funny too) If he wants to get better then he should accept Criticism, I got a lot at first but I saw what the others saw wrong with my art and I fixed those things and now Im better for it, so you too can go fuck yourselfs cause you both suck and should not post in our forums.
