Hello there.
This is my take on a fantasy painting.
it is a bookcover.

done in painter 7 and photoshop 7.

It's sort of finished, but crits and comments would still be nice :-)

happy summer to everyone.

eBoy

This is amaizing. I love every square inch of it. Very well done design too. That tone of purple on the towers shadow edge is a nice touch as well.

Thanks a lot you all :-)

Here's how I did it:
Sketched it in pencil and scanned it.
I inked the characters traditional and scanned that to... I chosed not to ink the tower to keep it sort of sketchy and ...distant.

then I coloured it in photoshop 7 and retouched it in painter 7

I used reference for the flea... check it here http://www.lime.dk/board/loppe01.jpg

took me a day sketching and two nights of colouring (can't work in the daytime in this heat ;-)

well... that's about it!

Cheers

Damn nice, wouldn't mind giving us a little run over on how you did it would ya? I mean, it it totaly digital? The cart and flea look inked, although I'm not good at identifying such things, just trying to learn. Great work though, very moving, and very, very, pro. Love that flea. Also, did you use any kind of reference?

Nice work. The clouds are amazing, great technique there. The atmosphere is good, all the light effects are really intruiging.

The characters are original and well drawn. Only thing that strikes me as odd is the lack of any other landscape features. IT is like the hill and tower just come out of nowhere. A little more work on the far distant landscape and some more in the middle ground would make it a little more believeable. Don't ruin the composition though, so no bold or distracting additions.

Nice work overall! Great sense of form and lighting you have. Hope that helps.

very pleasing to look at, It made me remember the last cover you did with the girl on the jety. makes me want to go play broken sword again.

did you have a specific brief to work to, if you did then that would answer the previous post.

Background reminds me quite a bit of the art in the most recent Monkey Island game. well done, indeed.

hey eBoy, when you say it's a book cover, do you mean that it's a book cover that's going to be published? Or is it just a "test" book cover?

If it's going to see print, what book is this for? I love the way that the background looks, especially how the cartoony figures sit in the scene. Those fleas rock!
