Long time not post. This was painted with acrylic on tinted Canson paper.

If anyone is going to the San Diego Comic Con, I'll be in booth 3634. Stop by and intoduce yourself. It's always nice to put faces to the screen names.

Brandon Lee --- The Cow

HAHAHa.... sorry couldnt resist.

Actually the image is awesome!! It really looks like Brandon Lee.

The only suggestion I could have is to maybe put the hint of his eyes behind the black a bit more pronounced... that might make it look less like a mannequin.

still Awesome job.

Thank god you can edit subject lines now. That is funny as hell Awetopsy.

I had the eyes in originally but I took out them out because I felt it made him look more brooding. I'll look into adding them again. Glad you like the piece.

Thanks for the great crits and comments. I do think I need to explain the purpose of the piece though. Sometimes in art (especially in comics) exaggeration is more important than accuracy. In this case, I sacrificed accuracy for mood. The original is 13x19 and has a lot of detail and texture that is lost when scanned and then reduced. I did originally have the eyes in but took them out for creative reasons. Unfortunately I don't have a scan of it when the eyes were there so you'll just have to trust me that the piece looks much better now.

Think of it this way, do you want to be an artist or a organic Xerox machine. Any decent illustrator can make a copy of a photo. The trick is can you get the final piece to trigger an emotional response or seem as if its alive some how. Draw an accurate picture but try to get the viewer involved in the experience. This is why I did this piece in this manner. Keeping the eyes was accurate but boring.
