YEAH!!! Really nice. Very nice actually. Comments: The hallway looks very attractive, how it goes down like that. The detail is nice. Quite nice. But there's a little thing about the detail. The characters are war-ridden, so I was thining that some of their armor should be a bit cracked, rusted, dirty. Cause the skull for example on the shortest guy's armor protudes a lot. I was thinking that it should be a bit blurry, maybe. I don't know. Just a suggestion. Good pic though. |

The only problem I have with the coloring is the high saturations of the colors blue, red, and yellow. It makes the overall image seem a bit harsh to the eyes. The shadows would probably come out better if there was some color to them instead of pure black, and a dominant light source would help bring more depth to the characters. I'll try and do an overpaint later on this weekend to a section of it to show what I mean (and to see if my suggestions would help or not).
It is a very cool image though, keep up the good work. |

I didn't have alot of time to work on it but maybe this will be enough to show what I mean. I picked the lights from overhead to work from and cast the shadows accordingly. Of course the shadows probably wouldn't be cast so long if the light continued down the hallway far enough to catch the front of the figures sufficiently. But I don't want to get more complicated then know how to handle.
Anyway, I mainly wanted to show how the shoulder and head weren't on the same plane as everything else. It is the way we make the shadows fall on other objects that will give our eyes the cue as to the position and shape of these objects, to give the appearance of depth in our pictures.
Also notice that instead of just making things darker when in shadow, I also make the color slightly different. This is what I'm not too good with and I'm trying to work on when I do coloring, so I'm in no position to really explain any of that just yet.
Anyway, let me know if any of this makes any sense. I'm having some trouble concentrating with all the noise and talking going on around me at the moment. Had to read over this thing 3 times now to correct words that I accidentally put in because I heard someone say it. I hate that.
