Hehehe, no offence to the bigginer, it is a very promising picture. However, never use the photoshop texture filters to add "detail" to your pictures. My advice to you is to use reference pictures of brocken buildengs to help with the drawing. The wrinkles in the cape should be longer and flow more, from top to bottom. Other then that, I think that this is a very promising picture and i think you should keep up the good work. |

When coloring, try to chose a definite light source and add the shadows and highlights from that. I don't want to be too harsh on you because it is just your first cg, but your character should be a lot darker and hidden in shadows because the moon can't shine on him while he's behind the wall. The only lighting on him should be from the surrounding environment.
Also, be sure to use plenty of layers and stay away from the dodge and burn tools unless you know how to use them... *Shrugs*
It is good for a first cg attempt though. Keep it up! ^^ |

Hi FMK,
I will endorse the previous C&C, here, and throw in my $.02, as well. As far as CG'ing goes its been pretty well covered. Conceptually, I get the impression that he is sitting sedately on a park bench amidst massive destruction...of course he could just be basking in the glow of his recent accomplishments The character is a good design, perhaps his weapon should be smoking, or something. Anyway, keep working at it, use your paintbrush and airbrush tools, pick your colors (base, highlights, and shades -ie the Hues and Values) manually as opposed to relying on software! Hope that helps...CG on! |
