[posted this on the other forum too..]
aw that's so great, Francis
only thingies are that the perspective [or whatever you call it] is off in some places, like in how the shoulders don't seem to match up to me. his right shoulder looks like it's nudged foreward more than the left, like his torso is twisting. come to think of it, it's not very clear to me what's going on with their dimension, whether they're rounded, flat, whether they drop off sooner or later.. yeah. for a second, too i thought the trim on his cloaky was asymmetrical, that the patterns didn't match.
well though, it looks great! it would be cool to see more on this theme, maybe further develop that priest guy in the background there? |

Cool Francis!
Are you mixing watercolor and marker, then touching up in p-shop?

Your conceptual stuff always impresses the hell outta me. This is no exception. Like agent, I wanna know what his story is too.
If he is a priest, should he maybe have an electronic priest collar of sorts? Maybe not. I'm an idiot. :P |

Francis, nice sketch. The background on left might be bit distracting though, just a thought. |

Hey Scott...good to see you posting again. Anyway, hey Francis...the thing about Danzig, Counting Crows to Linkin Park was about your hair evolution.
The bold lines around the head object rocks. It's so bold! Do more wit dis concept, please!

Hey Scott - yes, I can see that. Call it bad planning.
Ed - OK I see LOL.
I will work on this guy some more - it does have potential. |

Thanks for the comments. This was based on an idea about a priesthood that grows out of a group of machine caretakers. It's an idea that's used a lot in sci fi I think, and even in some old RUSH songs - the priests of the Temples of Syrinx.
Nova - good calls, I was lazy on the shoulders - sort of spent all my energy on rendering the head. The guy in the bg is actually supposed to be the same guy. Or do you mean the other guy...?
Ed - hah? But I'm glad you liked the pic.
ruler - nah, no joke, just a scale ref.
Phil - hey what's up?! Marker, and pshop touchup. No watercolor.
agent - see above.
Awetopsy - cool, I always thought they had nice visuals, but I couldn't get into the story.
pixelsoldier - sure why not? Glad you like it. |
