n8: here's the link to 1280-wide one
Thanks!
Gimbal: Okay, okay, you got me. i still have that 3-hour window of finishing it. I'm just waiting to get feedback from someone before i put that last effort into finishing the necron side in case i need to change something.
i figured it was "finished-enough" looking to post here for now.
On the colors... yeah. one of the last things i'm gonna do is splash some green on the right in a layer to see how it looks... my only concern with that is that since it's conceptually 2 seperate pieces of card art, would it look wierd having an off-screen green highlight on the Eldar? |

Oh, I see. Yeah, that would look odd. Never mind on that then. |

That's really cool. As I mentioned before it has that dynamic clash of opposing forces look like some of the previous Warhammer Magic box covers had. I only have two critiques that I can find to nit pick on. The Necrons in the background aren't as well defined as the Eldar (The last Eldar in the background looks really good btw). The other thing is very minor, but it relates to the balance of color throughout the picture. There is a section of green but the rest is mostly reds/yellows/browns. No idea how you could go about changing anything or if it would make it better. But as it stands it is still really good. |

I'm hopefully going to spend a few hours on it tonight, so i'll try doing some more lighting stuff on it as i polish it a bit more. |

Looking neat...it's got a good sense of motion to it...that's a hard thing to get, so you should be proud.
Maybe a little of that green colour over on the other side could help unify the colour scheme a bit.... |

That's better. Poor neglected Necrons. They just needed a little TLC.
So now we need to see it as a whole again and see how it works with the other image. |

yeah, i'm going to try to polish the eldar side tonight or this weeekend, then i'll re-assemble it.
i'm glad i broke it up though, because it helps me to remember that they're supposed to work seperately as well.

that looks nice jerO, I wish there was a bit more depth to it though..maybe the smoke and dust behind the characters could be a little thinner so that some shapes (maybe more bots) could be visible. |

thanks, Nova.
I'm walking a fine line here trying to make the focus of the piece the front necron's face. I'm diametrically opposed to the Boris style of "polish everything". That being said, i'm no Frazetta either.
Any suggestions?
would it help if the front fig popped even more?
it's rough too because i'm still getting a feel for doing stuff that ultimately is designed to go into a 2x3" box. |

okay, y'know what's funny about this whole thing?
at that rez you can't really see many of the changes, and in fact it looks darker. mostly because i didn't do an unsharp mask on teh second as i did the first.
so here, for your viewing pleasure is one LARGE file:

You know what I just noticed? I think the Necrons cheated on thier points allowance.
The green on the Eldar side looks good and not too overstated. I guess the only thing I could say is that the Necron side might not have enough seperation between the figures and that might not turn out so well on a small card. |

They're not cheating man, the other wraithguard fell under the withering long-ranged fire and that's all that's left
thanks.
Yeah, i hope it's not _too_busy.
we'll see. i printed it on business cards the other night screwin' around, and it seemed okay. I'll let you know what kind of response i get. |
